Just returned from a wonderful stay in Lochside cottage, Amazing, peaceful lochside setting with glorious views. The cottage itself is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We particularly appreciated the emphasis on 'Green' tourism. We are hoping to return and would highly recommend this accommodation.

The facilities are excellent well equipped kitchen, slept well in the very comfy beds, the house was warm and welcoming with the huge log fire in the main lounge making our stay feel very homely.
The wildlife on the hills around the house just made the experience very magical.

We've been heading to Leckmelm Holiday Cottages for many years and sometimes make a trip there twice a year. The Lochside Cottages are in a perfect spot - lovely views across Loch Broom, up to the Fannich Mountains or out to the Summer Isles depending which cottage you stay in. The cottages are situated on the lochside and at the back of them is the working farm - cows to be looked at, turkeys and hens to feed as well as the chance to buy some fresh eggs. The farm is run on environmental principles so all cleaning products etc in the cottages are eco-friendly. Walks can be taken from the cottages up the viewpoint walk (lovely looking towards An Teallach); a walk up the hill near Campbeltown Cottages; a walk along the shoreline to Leckmelm Gardens or to a lovely view at "the point" looking towards Sgurr Mor. A few miles away is the bustling village/town of Ullapool - good range of shops, eateries and pubs. The Ullapool Hill Path and the Rhue Lighthouse Walk are accessible from the village. There are plenty of hills and mountains within driving distance. The best bit of all though is sitting at the cottages spotting otters, seals and even porpoises.

I stayed in Lochside Cottages in October 2011. Cottages are very clean, modern and spacious with excellent views across the Loch from the cottage. Its a very tranquil spot and Lucy is really helpful and makes you feel very welcome. There are long walks to be had around the loch and plenty of wildlife to look at. I am looking forward to going again.

Room Tip: All rooms are great, just up to you whether you prefer a double or twin.

Stayed in leckmelm house. Large space, nestled above the rest of the cottages, sitting amongst the pine forest. Quiet and secluded. Good birdwatching from the large windows in the huge lounge. The biggest square fireplace I have ever seen, wish I'd had more time to enjoy it. Suprisingly only two bedrooms for such a large house, but comfortable beds and well set up kitchen, if rather retro in design.
Warm when we arrived. Logs for the fire waiting for us.
Piano ! Wifi. Two bathrooms.
Didnt get to make use of the spabath, but a cupa in the large engulfing sofas in the lounge was relaxing enough.
Great spot. Great find. Wish had stayed longer.
Only few minutes drive from ullapool, but you would need a car to stay here if you wanted to go into town.

We stayed in the week before Easter in 2012. The lochside 1 cottage was spacious, warm and well equipped. We've been to the Highlands 4 or 5 times in the last few years and stayed in various cottages - this was one of the best. The location was truly stunning with seals swimming in the loch just outside the cottage. Ullapool is just five miles way and is a lovely small Highland town/village with plenty to offer. Couldn't recommend this cottage and the area more...
