We booked this room through LateRooms.com and were a bit shocked after a long drive to find out that the room we booked wasn't the room they were told by LateRooms to book for us. It cost us £15 more than we had expected and the man behind the counter was not very nice to the young guy I was trying to talk to. I was a little put off by it because the young guy was so lovely and was a nice smile after a long trip to get there. So we ended up paying more than we thought BUT!!! the women were wonderful and the owner seemed very embarrased at the mistake and the room more than made up for it. we have 2 small boys aged 2 and a half and 1 year old and the room was spacious, warm and the beds were so comfortable and cosy. It was well worth the extra money. The bathroom was lovely, the bath was to die for, especially after a long trip and the towels were brought to us in abundance and were clean and fluffy. They even supplied us with shower gel and shampoo. The young guy helped us with all our stuff and when you small kids you have loads of stuff and he couldn't of been nicer. The only down side I would say were the men. When we came back after going into town and getting a meal we were stopped by the stairs while I was fishing the room key out of my bag and this intimidating man came over and starting grilling us about who we were and why we were there. Our boys were half alseep and we had shopping bags in our arms at around 7.30pm and I was offended by the fact that we had to explain who we were. Even after I pulled the room key out he asked what room we were in. But we only saw him that once and it didn't mar the whole experience. The best thing apart from the room was the breakfasts. The juice was fresh and not watered down and the bacon and sausages were define. They were all local products and just beautiful. They are included with the price of the room which is a bonus because they are lovely AND THEY offered to do scrambled eggs for our boys who usually just have cereal and toast. The Hostess couldn't do enough for you and she was so chatty to the boys who loved her and we found out later she is the other nice ladies Mum. She is a wonderful Mum and greets you when you come down with a warm smile. You wanted to hug her she was so nice. Overall I would say you would be silly not to stay there, it is family friendly and the food is wonderful and the women and young men are friendly and warm and good for a chat. Stay and enjoy but my advise is if your booking through LateRooms.com contact the Hotel before you go to double check your booking or make sure you have afew extra pounds on you just incase your tariff is wrong. But I must stress this is NOT the fault of The Ord Arms, it was LateRoom.com.The Ord Arms is at least a 3* and well worth going back. It is a lovely place to stay in a picturesque part of Scotland.10/10
