I booked with Sea Harris because I liked the feel of their website – I loved the photos and got the sense that the environmental aspects really mattered to them.
The weather for the day of my trip wasn’t great, but Seumas made great efforts to keep me advised and finally brought the trip forward by one day; I wouldn’t have got out there otherwise.
The boat was really comfortable, and the crew were very friendly and informative. It was a day of big swells and, not being a great sailor, I felt quite queasy; nothing to worry about though, as the crew were kindness itself.
It was a joy seeing the archipelago finally come into view, and coming in Village Bay felt so very special. I was nervous about transferring from the boat to the dinghy, but Darren and Iain Angus were so skilled and professional – I also appreciated their words of advice and encouraging smiles!!
Being on Hirta felt such a privilege, and walking among the houses, the walls and the cleits felt so evocative. We had nearly five hours on the island, so had plenty of time to walk up to The Gap and admire the view over to Boreray and the stacs.
On the return trip we went round the stacs and that was stunning. I so appreciated the commentary provided by Darren on the seabirds and wildlife, the history and other useful facts.
And last, but not least, I must mention Seumas’s Mum’s gingerbread – an absolute delight.
I loved this trip – it was a dream come true and I would highly recommend Seumas and Sea Harris.
Thank you for a fabulous experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to St Kilda. It far exceeded all expectations. Thank you for taking us there. Your crew is a credit to your company and they looked after us very well.

ps your Mother's gingerbread is top notch so thanks too for that tasty morcel.
Just completed a camping trip to the St Kilda archipelago with Sea Harris..co-ordinating the outward and returns journies due to the weather needs the skill and knowledge of the people getting you there..My trip out and back was perfect with Seumas’s team. Darren and Iain, two safe knowledgable and very competent people who advised me well. Thanks lads,
Highly recommended
Very well looked after - from the booking communications with Seamus, through to completing a relaxed, informative, smooth trip with Darren and Iain. Felt very lucky to have sunny, calm waters to St Kilda and a great group of comrades on board. Saw the St Kilda wren amongst other spots and took a wee look inside the Fairy House. Missed the Sea Eagle witnessed by others over ‘the gap’ (probably having 40 winks in the sun)! Enjoyed cuppa and home made ginger cake before before a real highlight tour of stacs - GO!
Sea Harris transported our party to Soay and Boreray in the St Kilda archipelago, 50 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean, then negotiated the sea cliffs that surround these islands on all sides, and safely and successfully landed 18 of us, including me, on these islands so that we could fulfill our ambitions to reach their summits.
We count ourselves as very fortunate that we were able to travel with Sea Harris out to St Kilda, on a beautiful calm day!
Very comfortable boat trip and five marvellous hours on the island of Hirta with all its history.
A bonus hour at the end of the day took us to the other islands of St Kilda, where we saw the amazing scenery and the millions of sea birds. The twitchers were in heaven!
Thankyou Sea Harris!
