“This ideal retreat would be hard to beat”
Reviewed 18 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

My partner and I stayed here for a week, our aim was total relaxation and we got it! The cottage is absolutely perfect, it has everything you could possibly need, so clean and well stocked. The view from the living room over the loch is magnificient, being November the weather was changeable so we saw the loch in lots of different forms. Top tip: Don't light the fire too early or you will not be awake after 8 p.m.

“Wonderful holiday cottage”
Reviewed 13 November 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Beautiful home in a tranquil setting. After a days sightseeing it was a joy to return to the fishermans cottage.Great kitchen to prepare meals and then to relax by the fire on the recliners planning the next days adventures with wifi that worked great .
Location perfect for exploring and not too far from our fav beach at Luskentyre.
Thank you Irene and Alistair for a wonderful stay and would like to commend you on the little extras that are sometimes overlooked in holiday rental properties.
Highly recommend

“Delightful cottage in a wonderful location”
Reviewed 6 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

A delightful cottage with a wonderful view down Loch Seaforth to the sea, and a telescope in the window. The location, on the boundary between Lewis and Harris, is delightfully peaceful, yet very central, and ideal for exploring the whole of the island. The owner gave us a very friendly welcome, and the cottage was simply furnished but immaculate, with several attractive artistic touches. We very much hope to return, and have already passed details to friends.

“Comfortable cottage in a stunning location”
Reviewed 21 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. It is ideally placed to explore Harris and Lewis or to sit and admire the views along the loch. Irene and Alasdair are most hospitable and friendly with a wealth of knowledge of the island which they are happy to share. The perfect base for a wonderful visit to a beautiful island.

The cottage is cosy, comfortable, well equipped and in good condition. It is perfectly located for anyone wanting to explore Lewis and Harris. It is set in a quiet location with splendid views over the nearby loch.

The hosts are very friendly but unintrusive.

“ideally situated cottage- beautiful views from both main rooms”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Beautifully appointed cottage in ideal situation at head of Loch Seaforth well placed for exploring both Harris and Lewis being just of the main road but very quiet. Very welcoming but unobtrusive hosts. The cottage was very well equipped for four, including items such as picnic hamper and some toys etc. comfortable beds. Well looked after property. We enjoy bird watching and we saw the following from the cottage windows: arctic tern (colony to right of loch), common sandpiper often , golden eagle, goosander (regularly), black guillemot, gannet, stonechat family, and common seals often. The island itself is stunning with specular scenery, beautiful beaches and wildlife, friendly people and lots of interesting places to explore.

“Wow factor at every turn”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Fisherman's Cottage is an ideal spot to experience Harris. Just check out the view from the kitchen sink and you will want to be here. The tallest mountains with Eagles flying among them are behind the cottage for magnificent walks and in front; crag lined water laps at a child friendly beach which is perfect for beach combing and dam building. The drive to Talbert and the Southern Harris beaches is the most magnificent view we have experienced a moon scape leads to huge expanses of yellow sand and clear blue/turquoise seas. A must is to visit Bart for Sea Kayaking at www.harris outdoor.co.uk we went with our 8 & 11year olds and he was brilliant.
Irene left home cooked food for us and was incredibly welcoming whilst also leaving us to it. We didn't see the dolphins in front of the house but seals swam up to us body boarding round the coast. Great house all mod cons, great location breath taking, great island.
