“Great Trip!”

Wild About Mull Wildlife Tours
Reviewed 8 August 2013

Bryan knows the island and its wildlife like the back of his hand. He is very knowledgeable, patient and most importantly, he knows where to look for things! We saw WT eagle, adder and plenty of other birds, and had stunning views of a golden eagle carrying a mountain hare. As we were about to shoot off form the golden eagle siting, I realised that the golden eagle had landed atop a cliff and was feeding. When I mentioned this to Bryan, he readily jumped out of the van, set up the scope and we had some brilliant views of the bird. The elusive otter evaded us all day despite our best efforts, but then wildlife doesn't always oblige.

I think this trip is great value and I would highly recommend it if you are interested in wildlife and have at least a day to spend.

Despite pretty horrible weather - rain and wind - we saw absolutely everything that we wanted to see, from eagles to otters, and a very nice seal. Bryan knows the island very well and was genuinely disappointed that the weather conditions did not work in our favour, and tried everything to ensure we cold make the best out of our day. A strong reccomendations with just one caution: bring your own water - and some food if you need more than a sandwich as the day can be very long otherwise!

If you are staying on Mull then this should be your first tour. Bryan is very knowledgeable and by letting him show you the best wildlife watching sites you get a brilliant introduction to the area. No guarantees but we saw 4 golden eagles plus a nest with chick, a sea eagle again with chick, four otters, mountain hares, adder, plus many smaller bird species. Takes you to places you would never find on your own and excellent value as full day tour and pick-up from your accommodation.

Along with two others from our B & B, where we were picked up, I spent a day recently with Bryan and it was a day to remember. Not only was he enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Mull and the wildlife, he was keen to know what we were interested in and tailored the day to our wishes. He is a terrific photographer and incredibly quick to spot wildlife. The telescope he set up when we stopped gave us a 'wildlife documentary' view. It became a joke with our group that whatever we said we wanted to see, he produced it! Thus a family of otters, the WT eagle chick, the golden eagles, mountain hares, adders, red deer and more than 60 different birds were seen. We were fortunate to have a beautiful day and for those, like me, who do not have their own transport, it was a delight to see different areas of South Mull. Lunch was provided and eaten while we scanned the skies for the golden eagles. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough and it must represent the best value ever for money - 8 hours of expertise for a mere £40. I can't wait to return and repeat the tour.
