“Sensational Views”
Reviewed 30 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We have recently spent a week in this lovely cottage with our 3 dogs. It has a large secure garden surrounded by sheep fencing as there are an awful lot of sheep about! The cottage is comfortable and well equipped with a log burning stove in the lounge and storage heaters throughout. the electric meter is loaded with £10 and we only had to add another £2 for the week. The owner supplied 5 bags of logs for the stove but they burnt very quickly and we added to bag of coal to slow them down and keep the place warm. The accommodation is perfect if you are taking a dog with you as the floors are easy to keep clean and you dont have to worry too much about muddy footprints! There is the Stein Inn about 10 mins walk away which we found very welcoming and they also serve meals which are tasty and reasonably priced. A specialist seafood restaurant is next door to the pub which has excellent reports although we didnt try it. The most outstanding feature of this property is the views from the front windows. The house overlooks Loch Bay which is a sea lock and the light changes constantly throughout the day. It is a photographers heaven and these views will stay with me forever. Skye is not known for its beaches but we found 2. One is Coral beach which is about 20 mins drive and the other is Staffin Beach which is a little further. Both are hidden by the tide so get there as the tide is going out and watch the picture unfold. We watched the seals playing in the sea aty Coral beach and also basking on the rocks. I really felt sad to leave and will definitely be back.

“Fantastic Location, well equipped cottage with massive garden overlooking the loch”
Reviewed 26 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed here for a week with our 2 dogs. The cottage itself is spacious, with two separate living areas and 2 decent size bedrooms. The main living room is very cosy and a big TV with free view and one with sky TV. The free internet is a godsend seeing as there is no phone reception in the cottage (but you can get one outside in the garden) and there is a pay phone too (that accepts incoming calls).

There are all the usual things excepted in a WELL equipped cottage. Things are a little dated but this is perfect for two walkers and those with dogs/children as your not constantly worrying about messing things/damage etc etc. Its a house that has been lived in and that added to the home form home feel.

The location is AMAZING...nearest neighbours to the left are about 40metres away. None to the right! Sheep in the back field and because of the location on the hill the most magnificent backdrop ever!

Stein has the Inn, which serves great ales and decent food (won't blow your socks off). Lochbay seafood restaurant however is a must - at least once. The scallops and turbot and monkfish are sensational (go here over three chimneys if you have to choose).

Would highly recommend this cottage to stay in, great communication from owner and a house you will definitely be comfortable in.

If you like cakes you must go to janns in dunvegan (small and cosy teahouse and red roof are good too) they cakes are delicious and huge.

We loved our trip to she and this cottage!
