This hotel is a little out of the way (not really within easy walking distance of Cardigan), but has fabulous views and the in-house restaurant is very good, both for evening meals and breakfast, but you will need to book, especially at the weekend, as it is very popular. There is plenty of on-site parking and the reception and bar staff are very welcoming. Ours was not a sea-view room, but it was very comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom was spacious, modern and tastefully decorated. I would say, however, that we were a bit cold. We were unable to regulate the heating for ourselves in the room (and especially the bathroom), but had to ask at reception for the heating to be turned on and that seemed too much trouble, as we were then worried about it being on all the time and being too hot in the night! That aside, it is a very comfortable hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Gwbert hotel for two nights on a KGB deal and had a relaxing stay. The hotel is right on the sea front and commands fabulous views of the Cardigan coast and surrounding hills. The hotel has a car park which isn't huge and is used by non resident diners using the hotel restaurant which can leave you to park on the road should you arrive a little late in the evening. The reception area is quite bright and the lady booking us in was friendly and efficient as were all the staff we encountered. Our room was on the first floor on the corner of the building, not large but adequate with TV, comfy bed, tea/coffee tray, shower/bathroom with wc and wash basin and complimentary toiletries. Although we paid extra for a sea view we were rather disappointed as the room (5) was on a corner and the view of the sea was not immediately visible without actually looking around the corner, we had a better view of the hotel along the road!!

Breakfast was served in the Bistro restaurant which was very pleasant and well laid out, this had a much better view of the sea!!! It was help yourself to a good choice of cereal and fruit and a plentiful supply of tea/coffee. The order for cooked breakfast was taken by the waitress and was hearty and plentiful with more toast if you wanted, nothing too much trouble.

We ate in the same restaurant on our first night as this was part of the deal and again the food was excellent, staff friendly and efficient taking time to chat and make you feel comfortable.

Checkout was as swift and easy as check in and we would not hesitate to stay again if in the area. Thank you all at The Gwbert Hotel, really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: If you want a sea view ask for one on the front of the building.

Stayed for two nights (KGB) and paid a bit more for a sea view and were expecting something special after reading all the reviews, and how right were they!...... Fantastic, inspirational, wonderful and hand on heart, even better. Hotel has its own car-park,decked sun area, fitness suite (honestly did not have time to enter), a number of bar areas, all extremely well presented and comfortable, a restaurant, serving really good food at an excellent price, probably the best by far in this corner of West Wales. Breakfasts were magnificent, good choices of quality produce which were cooked to perfection, every time. Dinner was so good, we didn't even contemplate going elsewhere, we just enjoyed the hotel so much. The only minor niggle I have, as been reported previously, is that possibly certain shifts of staff, do not have the same high standard and level of customer service. We will definitely be looking forward to returning soon.

Room Tip: Room 11 has an "awesome" view, though the room has been refurbished, its double with showe...

Stayed for 2 nights. Lovely hotel, bedroom first class, all mod cons, wished we had booked a sea view. Lovely sea views from the restaurant. Dinner was excellent on both nights and no problem about booking as long as you dont mind eating late? Hearty Full breakfast - sets you up for the day. Found all staff very friendly and helpful. Used the hot tub and sauna, which was an extra bonus. Great location will definitely visit again and again.

Room Tip: Higher floor would be better as the floor boards are creaky and we were disturbed during the night w...

Stayed on business with a colleague for 1 night and what a gem of a location right next to the sea and on a nice sunny day where a late afternoon drink was a real treat. My room was a little small, but clean and well equipped. The restaurant was again nicely located with sea views, however had the lamb steak which was very tough and took away from our nice experience of the hotel. My colleague had stayed before, hence why we booked, as he said the food was much better then, so this visit may have been a one off, so probably would stay again as the views and location are well worth another chance.

Stayed one night, Lovely hotel very modern, clean, staff were very welcoming. Room was on the small side but adequate enough for the two of us for one night. Lovely hot powerful shower.
Didn't book for dinner - was told on arrival that it was fully booked. At dinner time we asked again and they managed to fit us in!! Great service, loads of staff on who were very friendly. Great breakfast too.
Will definately stay again.
Fabulous sunset!!!
