We arrived unannounced at the Black Lion about 10.30pm desperate for a room as our prebooked accommodation was a disaster. The barman assured me that they had room and it was no problem and was very welcoming. A young lady showed us to a room which was made up and ready for us. After a wind down drink with the barman and some locals we retired and had a very comfortable night's sleep. En suite facilities were clean and everything worked well.
Breakfast was served in a dining room and was nicely presented. We had only cereal and toast but cooked breakfast was available. Generous check out time of 11.30. The Black Lion is in the middle of Cardigan and handy to other facilities. It is an old building with quaint stairs and corridors so that you are never quite sure what is round the corner. After our earlier experience it was an oasis in the desert. There was no dedicated parking but plenty of on street spaces available when were there. But this might be a problem sometimes. Wi fi was available but we didnt use it. Recommended as a bed and breakfast option with bar and meals available.More
