“A warm welcome and dog friendly pub/restaurant”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

We go back to The Eagle every year when we visit Cardigan. Marianne and Pete are very friendly and there is a lovely choice of good home cooked food at reasonable prices and the portions are generous. A lot of the meals are plain English/Welsh dishes, some with touch of Marianne's interpretation - loved the raspberry vinegar on the salad. The pub is dog friendly which is very important for us when we are on holiday.

“Why the 5 star reviews??!!”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Went to this pub a couple of years ago for a meal. The food was OK and the prices were average so went back again when last on holiday. Sadly the prices had shot up and the food had shot down!! The meat portions were tiny and poor quality or badly cooked and the veg was only half cooked and cold. The plates were cleared with no comment that we had all left the veg, so obviously constructive feedback was not encouraged!! (No space for comments on their website either!) We were also the only diners which should have warned us!! We won't be going back :(

“Excellent sunday roast, brilliant service!”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

We ate here for Sunday lunch yesterday, myself, my Partner, my Nana, and 2 young siblings. The Sunday roast was beautiful !! Beef was cooked perfectly, my Nana couldn't stop praising it all day, the best mash potato I've had in a long time, and enough veg to feed a small army!! The gravy was proper home-made and was delicious!!

Not only was the food lovely, the service by the owners was great. They were warm and welcoming and paid attention to the children by giving them Christmas crackers and chatting about Santa.

Last time we visited Nana in Cardigan (we live in Swansea) we took her for Sunday lunch in the Cliff Hotel, Gwbert. The lunch we had here at the Eagle was 100 times better than the Cliff!! So next time we are visiting we will come straight back!

Thanks again and will recommend you to family that live in Cardigan.
