Stayed for weekend during March and found this to be a cosy and quiet guesthouse with superb sea views, mountains and just a few hundred yards from town and other amenities. Arriving by car there is plenty of free parking out front, and just a short walk from railway station if arriving by train. The rooms are arranged over three floors but there is disabled facilities available on the ground floor. We had a top floor room with sea view which was amazing, and had plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Also liked the fridge and alarm clock, trouser press, TV and CD player. Nice clean room with small en-suite but servicable and shower worked well. Very good breakfast cooked by Roy but ask Angie if you want something else. Oh and yes dogs are acceptable. Would probably stay again. Moses Uk

Room Tip: Top floor overlooking beach/sea/Mountains (but a bit of a climb)

My husband and I - (sometimes our son and his fiancee come with us), go to Barmouth twice a year and always stay at The Sandpiper. The owners, Angie and Roy, are excellent hosts. They look after their guests very well and always make your stay very enjoyable. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed with a fridge, trouser press, hairdryer, tv and sofa in the bay window overlooking the sea. The breakfast is excellent. The good thing about the breakfast is that you tick what you want and you can always change your choice for the next morning if you inform them before hand. If you expect 4 or 5 star luxury for their very reasonable price, then don't stay here.
They have many guests like us, who are regulars. Believe me we are very fussy when it comes to accommodation and do not return to a place if it does not meet our standard. This does meet our standard for the price and that is why we would not stay anywhere else in Barmouth.
We always look forward to our stay at The Sandpiper. Angie and Roy are a lovely couple and are always helpful.

We stayed for 1 night at The Sandpiper for a short weekend away. On arrival we were greeted by Roy who was very welcoming. We were able to check in around lunchtime. Angela showed us up to our room and was very helpful. The room had views of the mountains and the comfortable surroundings were very much welcomed when we returned from the town and the beach, as it was an extremely cold, windy and snowy few days in many parts. Breakfast was served between 8 and 9am with cereals, toast and cooked breakfast provided. Also a choice of tea/coffee or juice. Roy and Angela were very friendly and we hope to make a return visit when next in the area.

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor. It is fine if you don't mind climbing 3 floors of stairs. Otherw...

Lovely friendly traditional guesthouse with fabulous views over the beach and hills of snowdonia! Picturesque town of Barmouth with great beach and ideal for walking in snowdonia and Cadir idris.
Great food and lovely people run this homely B and B! Full marks a great stay!

Room Tip: Upper floor have better views but more of a climb! Great disabled facilities downstairs!

I am absolutly disgusted with this place, the bed was like trying to sleep on concrete, we found a couple of blankets which we had to fold under the sheet and aswell as the throw and it was still like concrete we could feel every single spring in our backs, the attic board banged all night from the wind and when we told them in the morning the response we got was "oh well you cant have everything" we managed to find somewhere else to stay and so we informed them i did apologise that we were about 20 mins late in telling them we were checking out but i couldnt sleep in the bed to which angie started screaming and shouting and swearing at me to" get out pack our stuff and get out!!" ( few swear words were in all of that!) the bloke pushed angie out the way and said that he woyld deal with it out how "p****d off" he was because we had made them lose £158.00. I was completly mortified, after all the acreaming and shouting they then said i could pay for saturday night!! (i dont think so!) i am completly and utterly disgusted with the customer service here! The rooms deffinatly need modernizing and a new bed put it! And read book in room NO TAKEAWAYS IN ROOM! i would never stay here again!

I stayed for two nights in a single room. Angie and Roy met me upon my arrival and took my case up to the room. The room was nice and clean and bright overlooking the sandunes and sea. There was a small tv and the usual tea/coffee etc, but a nice touch for me at least was the fact that there was wholemilk provided instead of that skinny stuff. The bed was fine and clean. Breakfast you could start with cereal, juice or grapefrit segments, before having a full english breakfast. Top marks for the breakfast which was served freshly cooked and hot each morning. My only quibble was that the toast arrived before the breakfast. Also I had a train to catch home and would have really liked a slightly earlier breakfast as I do not like to rush. This was mentioned to Angie and Roy but they said they did not start doing breakfast until 8am, so it couldn't be done! My train was at 8.50am and there was a 10min walk to the station which left me to be served, eat and depart the quest house in 40 mins. I did it but just felt an extra 10 mins would have been better. This was the only thing that let it down I felt, but I would stay there again.

Don't expect anymore and you will not be dissappointed, this is your archetypal British seaside B&B. Plus points: Fridge in room. Spacious room. Decor Ok. Minus points : fire escape through room. three flights of stairs. furniture a little tired and dated. Bed uncomfortable. Beware of rules ie. NO TAKEAWAY FOOD ALLOWED!!
Breakfast; good standard fare, but only limited choice.
Not bad but not the best .
