“Great little cottage - stunning location”

I have stayed at the Barn every year for the past 5 years with my family (and a few times before that as well). We keep coming back because it is just perfect for our family (including two bouncy springer spaniels).

The absolute best thing about the Barn is the location. Out of the kitchen window, or up onto the hill behind gives you the most beautiful views of the Mawddach Estuary and Cader Idris beyond. My kids love to scramble up the rocks and play with the dogs up and down the hill. There are often black sheep grazing around the barn (they can give you a bit of a fright when the wander past the back door in the morning) and these are a great attraction for the kids as well (along with the chickens).

We have walked into Barmouth and back once - personally I wouldn't recommend it - the hill is pretty steep up and down but then I'm not the most energetic! Its a really quick drive however (practice reversing down narrow lanes to passing places before you travel) and parking in Barmouth is just £3.50 for a whole day for any of the council car parks or on road.

The Barn is equipped with everything you need for your stay including games for those inevitable rainy days and whilst its not the height of modernity its perfect for families (washing machine included!). Asda will deliver as well (although they did get lost!)

Watchouts - the bathroom is downstairs (rest of the accomodation is upstairs) and it can get a bit cold down there so worth bringing slippers.

Overall highly recommended for families and anyone else wanting a cosy cottage in a beautiful location

“Comfortable and very peaceful.”

Very comfortable and clean cottage, we really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is well equipped and a perfect starting place for walking or mountain biking or just a quiet place to relax after a day on the beach.

We had one day of rain. Once we returned from lunch out we lit the log burner and got out the games, kindly left in the cupboard. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable day.

Some of the cottage is a little dated, if you are expecting state of the art kitchen and bathrooms then this cottage isn't for you but everything works beautifully, has everything you'll need and for the price we paid we are more than happy.
