Gorgeous setting, plenty to do, lovely food - BUT! Tables squashed together in dining room; 6 inch space between our party and next, too many diners squashed in. Entertainment room was too packed as well. Standard of singing very poor from entertainment team, although resident band very good; almost as good as billed acts. Entertainment manager (young woman) very condescending, like a hammed up Hi-De-Hi act, and 2 hours of inane game type activity is not acceptable from 8 till 10pm on Saturday night, when main act The Fortunes came on. Now we discover they are planning to build extra accommodation by knocking down bowling hall; more people packed in to share less activities sounds like a recipe for disaster and we will not come back. Warners are getting too greedy and will end up losing customers.

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your feedback here on tripadvisor.

I would like to assure you that we take all of our guests comments seriously and use these to improve on the service and standards we offer.

I apologise that on this occasion the entertainment was not to your satisfaction, as you can see we have many guests who really enjoy what we have to offer.

With regards to your comments on the bowls hall and extra accomdation, I can only re assure you that we have many 'new & exciting' plans for Bodelwyddan in the future and would give surety that we would not take more guests than we can fit in.

Kind regards Claire Fletcher GM

We chilled out and visited the places of interest we wanted to in the area and had a totally relaxing stay. We preferred the food here to other Warner venues but it lacks comfortable relaxation areas such as are available in their manor house hotels. We don't do the entertainment scene so can only rely others opinions ....who seemed to be there for this alone....and who enjoyed.

Warner holidays need to consider the entertainment needs of adults in their early 60’s and younger adults if you still want to be in business in 10 years time. I booked a 70’s weekend that should have been music of the 70’s not entertainment for 70 year olds. We had to sit through far too much ballroom dancing, a poor comedian, bingo and dancing show by entertainment staff. The Neil Diamond singer and the keyboard player in the bar were very good, but we had to sit thought all the other rubbish first. There was so much good music in the 70’s there could have been a different tribute band each night.

My wife and I have stayed at a number of Warner hotels but unfortunately Bodelwyddan Castle was a big disappointment. Reception is dreary and does not create an overall good impression. We had booked a Royale Room, No 605, first floor just to the right of the gift shop. The room was warm and clean but otherwise unimpressive compared to other hotels. The bathroom was small and there were a number of cracked floor tiles. The small window in the bedroom was sealed shut and with no window in the bathroom the only way to get fresh air into the room was to open the bedroom door. Dining room was very dark, tables very close together, we were seated at table 11 which was in a corner. I found the food adequate but there did not appear to be the same selection/choice of other hotels, bacon served at breakfast was more fat than bacon, horrible.

Bar/lounge area was clean tidy but nothing special, the coffee shop adjacent to the gym was no better than a motorway café, not at all comfortable and vey expensive - £5.50 for a tuna sandwich.

Main entertainment area, seats uncomfortable, tables with no coverings, no mats for drinks. The whole place looked liked it needed a spruce up.

Entertainment was fair, History tour of the grounds was very good. I enjoyed the day time quiz, however on one occasion no one from the entertainment team turned up so the café staff put together a pop quiz themselves. Other activities were untried as we went out exploring most days.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

would I go back, to other warner hotels, yes, to Bodelwyddan, defiantly not.

Just spent a very enjoyable and interesting weekend at Bodelwyddan. Plenty of activities to keep you busy on site, and something to suit all tastes. Took the opportunity to visit the National Trust properties in the area. Our 'Signature' room in Princes Hall was well appointed and conveniently situated to Reception, Dining Room and evening entertainment. The choice of food was excellent and very well presented. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The 50% reduction was very good value and wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
