“The Best Night Sleep”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

From the moment we stepped in the front door we felt at home. Geoff made us coffee and had just baked a lovely cake. The bedroom and bathroom was beautifully decorated. The bed ever so comfortable, best night sleep. The bedroom was lovely overlooking the front garden. The breakfast was good. Not real easy to find, would help to have some signs down on the road with Country House on it, (Just a thought) otherwise a beautiful stay. Thank you Gaye and Geoff keep up the good work.

You wonder what you're getting into as you drive up ever narrower lanes and through the gates, then are confronted by a lovely, restored country home. And it gets even better inside.
The rooms are sympathetically decorated and walls hung with Gaye's great taste in art; even the furniture is just so appropriate. Our room was sumptuous, the bed hugely comfortable, the bathroom peerless... I'm getting boring now.
This is a first-class guest house, on every level. The breakfast was delicious and even the choice of books for folk like who forgot to bring one is excellent.
I would add one, solitary note of caution; the house is next door to a farm. If you don't like the mooing of cows early each morning, book somewhere with the roar of cars instead. My wife and I had a lovely, two-night stay. Thank you Gaye and Geoff

Room Tip: Tell Gaye what you'd like best and she'll see what she can do for you!

We had two nights in the large front bedroom. It has a lovely sunny outlook over a garden with lots of wildlife . The room is very spacious and exceptionally beautifully restored with a modern shower room. The bed and the bedding of very high quality and the artwork on the walls made it a superb room to stay in.The breakfast was delightful and the hosts have all the best hospitality skills. Make sure you read the driving instructions carefully.

Room Tip: The front double room

Thanks so much for the review - we enjoyed meeting you all and are delighted you found this part of Wales so entertaining - and active! Chamber music and seal watching next time round, to contrast/compare with jazz and kayaking? We do hope you make it back sometime.

Originally booked for two nights but ended up staying for seven! We chose this hotel to continue walking the length of the all Wales coastal path. It provided us with an excellent for this. Plums in geranium syrup, a must for breakfast!

Room Tip: We stayed in two of the three rooms and they were both excellent

We did enjoy getting to know you both a bit better as your stay extended day by day. The weather has been fantastic here this summer - maybe to make up for the snow and ice thrown over much of the country while we talked around the wood burner in the sitting room....

We stayed for 3 nights at this wonderful country house. We had a very warm welcome from the hosts Gaye & Geoff. Tea and freshly baked cake were provided on arrival.
The food was excellent, I can recommend the full Welsh breakfast.
Ideal location for exploring the area, including St. Davids Cathedral and several castles nearby.
A good base for exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline, the nearby Preseli Hills and other attractions.

We are very lucky to live in this part of Wales; it is even better when our guests enjoy the very special atmosphere that is North Pembrokeshire. Several visitors this year have commented "just like Cornwall - without the crowds"! Thank you so much for taking the time to review.

It's impossible to fault this place. Lovely house, charming hosts, excellent food and good value for money. Also, the location is ideal for exploring both the St David's area and the Preseli Mountains.

It's also worth mentioning that as it was the last room available, we stayed in the one with its bathroom just outside the room and across the hall. This wasn't a problem at all. The bathroom was great and the journey to get there took abut three seconds. If you want to stay at Cefn Y Dre
and this is the only room available, don't let it put you off.
