“Brilliant addition to Fishguard”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

We've been coming to Fishguard for over 12 years and Ffwrn is a truly fantastic addition to the centre of the town.
Savour the interior, go there to chill and relax - don't go there expecting clinical fast-food type service.
Truly deserves to succeed - it has style by the bucket-load, character and charm - and yes they may need to consider staffing levels but cut them some slack - this is their first summer season and they are learning.
In any case, they are not trying to do fast food, or have quick turn round business - if that's what you want, go to Tesco in Goodwick and join a queue.
Opening hours on the door would be good !

“A shocking hour and a half spent.”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

We've never been to a restaurant where we we felt insulted, this was the first. Our order, or part of it, arrived after 25 minutes. Three in our party were left without food and when we approached the staff to enquire of the missing dishes we were told that we had placed a special order and that was why. The special order was ham and bread for our son, tricky to muster I'm sure.
When the other dishes still didn't arrive, we then approached the staff once more and were told that they weren't McDonalds, somewhere we never go, and that they didn't do fast food, you don't say! They also said, 'Well. You're not from around here are you?' Which I can only assume meant we weren't Welsh. Even if we were Welsh, we would have been asking for the food we had paid for. In addition, we were over charged by about £15.
Never have we been to an eatery where we were at fault for placing an order. This almost spoilt our holiday to Fishguard but thankfully, after visiting another restaurant in the locality, our faith was restored.
A truly shocking experience which we'll never repeat.

“Awful visit- we complained and were forced to leave!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Really disappointed- looked eclectic, jazz playing, other peoples food looked great... But 3 peoples food arrived after 15min... After a further 30 min, we asked where the 3x crepes were... We told they were on its way- we waited 15 min longer- then complained to the owner, she suggested we went somewhere else, no apology- her husband then came over- and threatened us... We felt bullied, and intimidated with our 1 year old! All we wanted was our lunch!! You shouldn't have to wait over an hour for pancakes!! Worst experience in a restaurant ever!!

“Great idea, could be so much better”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We popped in for what we thought would be a quick lunch. The first thing to say is the venue is fantastic. Very unusual and thoughtfully done out creating a nice atmosphere.

We ordered 5 crêpes. Nothing fancy, just 4 ham and cheese and 1 cheese & tomato, together with a couple of appetisers to keep us going. After about 20 minutes, they finally brought over the cup of tea that my mother in law had ordered. We then waited and waited and waited. After an hour, the appetisers finally arrived. Very shortly after, the first crêpe arrived for my son. Then my wife's about 5 minutes later. Then we waited and waited and waited again. After giving them a nudge they insisted we had only ordered two crêpes. Clearly we hadn't and we had paid for 5. The order slip even said 5 when they checked.

After another 20 minutes or so, they started bringing the remaining 3 crêpes, one at a time of course (they must only have one hot plate). It had taken so long, that my wife went to order a coffee and a couple of pastries while we were finishing our crêpes off. You might have expected those to be offered or partially offered free out of goodwill. No such luck, although as we were finishing up, another ham and cheese crêpe was brought over - not that we really fancied another one after finishing our meal!

A real shame as the place is great, the owners seemed very nice and the food was really good. It just took forever to get our food and in total we were there well over 2 hours for what should have been a quick meal. If they could just be organised a bit, it would be a real gem of a place and have customers returning again and again. As it is, we won't be going back I am sorry to say. I really hope they turn it around and make it a success.

“Happening place in Fishguard”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

A former church hall which would not sound an exciting place has become the happening venue in Fishguard. The interior has been sympathetically remodelled with all sorts of funky decor and a simply huge wood oven where bread and pastries are made whilst authentic crepes made from imported French flour.

It's also a cracking upcoming music venue.

Hard for me to be objective as Rhodri and Beatrice are such lovely people.

I should add to clarify the TAC below that since opening the place they have become friends of ours.

I'd go so far as to say they don't have that many "customers" at Ffwrn but they have loads of friends who pop in.
