Three of us stopped for long weekend touring the area. This is a little gem good honest food, reasonably priced, superb beer. Bedrooms need up dating but after a few beers that doesn't seem to matter.
.Our Hosts very accommodating and the dogs very friendly as are the locals.

We regularly travel here for a pint from their Microbrewery. Last evening they had six real ales in the bar room and another three in the lounge bar. I had a pint of Aur Cymru and wanted more. Then having decided, quite rightly not to drive the 40 miles home, we negotiated a good price for a double room, and went into the restaurant for a meal.

We both decided on the Table D'Hote menu and both took the soup and lamb shank options - this was a very wise choice as the food was outstandingly good. A bottle of Chilean Chardonnay was the perfect complement to the meal. The price of the three course meal for residents was £13.50 and we thought that was excellent value.

After desserts, we went back into the back bar (the place where the locals sit next to the log burning open fire) and we both had a pint of Shake, Ramble and Roll, and a pint of the Eden. We retired to bed very happy.

A good nights sleep in a double room was followed with a good full breakfast. Regrettably, the bedrooms are badly in need of renovation, yet there were no complaints about the cleanliness and all in all we thought the room was value for money. The general ambiance of the place is fantastic if you are looking for really good ale, really good food, and a rustic place with lots of history. This Georgian hotel needs a facelift, but given a good customer following it could get back to its former glory. The bog snorkelling and man v horse races in the summer generate a good trade in the summer, but do think about visiting in the winter and trying to help the owners increase their annual income, so that they can invest in this great Georgian hotel, which is a fantastic base for walkers.

We'll be back on a regular basis.

Oh, Ray (customer in the bar), you left your computer on the table. It's now in the back office behind reception.

And Mr Evans (customer in the bar), happy birthday for 7 March.

We love this place and its connection with Screaming Lord Such (it was his campaign HQ). See you soon.

I have used this as a pub for a long time now. They brew their own beer and it is simply the best. But we had lunch there Saturday i had one of thier curries and it was just fantastic. This is a busy place so prepare to wait a little sometimes. Its worth the wait, if your a real ale buff you better book a room ha!

The landlord and landlady are very friendly this is one not to miss

This place would struggle against a new plastic chain hotel for those who like the new super clean modern living.
This place is old and quirky & is mode suited to those who like to go hill walking or in our case Bog Snorkeling!
It's the tap house for the heart of Wales brewery & serves good large portions of home cooked, local produce.
I would say though on the down side, it is a little expensive for what you get in today's market, but stayed twice now & probably again for next year's World Bog Snorkeling championships!

Having briefly visited the Neuadd Arms a couple of months ago, I chose it this time as my base for a cycling tour of the Cambrian mountains. Yes, as your reviewers have observed, the rooms are, in some respects, quaint, but the atmosphere and welcome are unique. Good food, and a brewery too! All in the centre of the town, overlooking the square. Truly Heaven on Earth, at the end of a long day's cycling!

Room Tip: There are plenty of tips available. I was offered a bath or shower - my choice, and that's fine...

Have just spent four nights here and had a wonderful time. Staff are all very friendly and helpful and the food is simply fantastic! Décor can be a little tired but you do not notice it as you are made so welcome and treated so well.

Second visit to this hotel with our walking group from Devon.Excellent value for money, especially if you are a group and book mid week. You can get guided walks included in the price.
The food is great and the tea and cakes at the end of walks (tiffin) a real bonus. Some of the rooms need updating, but dont let this put you off. We would definitely go again.
