Reviewed 10 July 2013

A well run, comfortable B&B. Lovely breakfast which lasted me all day. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.
Plasnewydd B&B is situated in the most charming town of Llanwrtyd Wells. A great part of the world for lovers of the outdoors.

We have just returned from a two day stay at Plasnewydd and wished it was longer. It was excellent on every count, rooms were comfortable with many extras, the breakfasts were excellent and Shirley was an attentive host without being intrusive. We will certainly return for another excellent experience.

We've just returned from a lovely long weekend in Mid-Wales, again staying with Shirley & Norman at Plasnewydd.
We really cannot fault this establishment, and keep returning whenever we're in the area. Facilities are clean, comfortable and comprehensive. The free WiFi proved invaluable. We haven't taken our laptop before, but this time we used it to assist route planning - and to find the cheapest diesel for the journey home!
The area is very quiet, and the locals are friendly. A short walk to our favourite Pub (The Stonecroft Inn) finds a good selection of real ales, and a good choice of food at keen prices.
The breakfast choices offered by Shirley really would shame many "five-star" hotels - honestly NOTHING is too much trouble!
Despite the changeable weather (we perhaps spent a little more time in the car than we would have liked), we "did" all the mountain roads (Abergwesyn Common & The Devils Staircase are a "must") and Devils Bridge & the Gigrin Farm Red Kite Feeding Centre were the highspots of our visit.
It was good to see Shirley & Norman again - we will definately return in the future.

.overnight stop recommended by local resident, who advised we would not be disapointed,he new what he was talking about. Everything about this establishment is first class, very warm welcome from Shirley.Much thought and effort having been made to make surroundings comfortable and inviting.Would be very hard indeed to improve on the breakfast spread,in quantity and quality. Very quiet area, short walk to village centre and superp pub.

Staying at the Plasnewydd my partner and I felt at home; we were so relaxed. The beds were very comfortable, the shower easy to control, bathroom immaculate. Although this old B&B house is barely a 2 minute walk from the town centre, your ears would not believe it - absolute silence in the rooms. Cooking was spot on and no variation on the menu was too much trouble - we even had dairy free milk bought for us specially when I realised I'd forgotten to pack some. Thanks again Shirley!

Had a really lovely time, they provided us with dairy free milk and cake and really made us feel welcome. The room was lovely, the bathroom was great and the breakfast was superb! Definitely want to come back!

Room Tip: The location is very quiet so all rooms should be equally as peaceful.

This is the second time that I have travelled to Llanwrtyd on my own and stayed at Plasnewydd. Apart from being very good value, it is cosy, homely and very welcoming. The weather was absolutely freezing and I had several hours to pass, but felt fine popping in and out during the day.
Shirley is very accommodating and went out of her way to put out a very early breakfast for me on two mornings.
I have stayed at many B and B's but will definitely come back to this one - I love Llanwrtyd Wells anyway!
