Wonderful cottage with every thing you could possibly need.Good location near river and a freat olde worlde pub.Parking was a bit tricky but we did arrive the last weekend of Hay Festival.
Extremely reasonably priced for this standard of accommodation. Will definitely use again.

Just as information for future guests - although there is no wifi in the cottage, there is in fact free wifi in the Library and also various cafes in Crickhowell - two minutes walk away! (there is reference to this in the Information Folder in the cottage). Christina (owner)

I think this was our 5th stay at Ramblers Cottage and so we obviously really like the cottage and love what Crickhowell has to offer. We try and visit once a year, normally in Feb/March time.
The cottage is very comfortable and extremely well equipped and sits in a quiet street in town. It is warm and cosy and feels homely and if the weather is decent there is a stone walled garden to sit out in.
The thing about the location is that once you have arrived you might not need your car again for the duration of your stay as you have access to walks out on the hills as well as the opportunity for a flat walk beside the nearby canal.
Crickhowell itself is a small town but has all you need for your stay. You do not need to bring anything with you as each morning you can take the 5min walk into town and get your fresh bread etc from the bakers, get your paper and anything else you might need from the mini store. It's great, I can't do that at home it's a real treat to get back to the cottage with warm bread. There are also butchers, grocers and cafe's in town.
There are several pubs in town, the nearest one being about 100yds from the front door of the cottage and which has a small garden overlooking the river. There are a handful of other pubs up in the town centre.
Christina the owner is extremely welcoming and helpful and so I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to get outdoors and explore the local area, which is very pretty.
We will be back i'm sure of that.

An excellent cottage in an excellent location. Everything was catered for, the best equipped kitchen I've ever come across in a rental. It was worm regardless of the temperature outside. In Crickhowell you have a choice of some cracking restaurants just book early.

“Lovely Cottage,Perfect Location”
Reviewed 20 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Ramblers Rest is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting in the heart of Crickhowell within a minutes walk of the high street.
The accommodation was spotless and the garden just devine.
Condiments were available in case you forgot something.
It was a lovely surprise to find milk in the fridge and wine on the table to greet us.
We would highly recommend staying here.
Christina was extremely helpful and friendly.

“A lovely cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 14 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We stayed at the cottage for a week, and spent it split between sight seeing, walking and generally relaxing. Crickhowell is a lovely town, and this cottage is in a lovely part of it, close enough to allow walks into town to collect cakes and coffee. We spent as much time cooking as we did eating in the excellent local hostelries, and the kitchen is very well equipped. The cottage is warm and cosy with plenty of hot water for when you get back from the hills. A wonderful find.

“We will be back!”
Reviewed 18 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We found this lovely cottage when looking for accommodation in Crickhowell, and what a find! Cosy, clean, and extremely well equipped for self catering - although Crickhowell does have lots of pubs and cafes too, all within a few minutes walk from the cottage. The garden is a delight - sitting having breakfast and listening to the birds singing is very relaxing, and we were very lucky with the beautiful sunny weather. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend Ramblers Rest Cottage to our friends and relations. We will be back - maybe in the winter, to enjoy the warm central heating!
