Lovely hotel nestled in the hills above Crickhowell. Food and service good. Room was very comfortable and I had an excellent nights sleep.
Didn't use the leisure facilities but would do on a return visit.
Breakfast was great.
Views are outstanding.

Everything about this hotel is perfect. From the receptionist Lisa who arranged our booking and was present when we arrived, all the staff at the hotel and in the gym to the lovely room we had, and the delicious dinner and breakfast. You can see the hotel from the main road but the sweeping drive up the hill to the actual building is impressive and immediately makes you feel that you have arrived at a real county house. The view from the car park and the terraces is magnificent. The atmosphere at the hotel is relaxed, nothing is too much trouble and although the day we arrived there had been a wedding fair no one look harassed or stressed and it had no impact on the service provided to the guests. Our room wasn’t quite ready but as we were aware that it wouldn’t be prior to our arrival as it was being used to showcase the alternative bridal suite we were quite happy to wait and the complementary drink went down a treat after a long day driving and sightseeing. Our room over looked the garden and was well laid out. A little bit modern for our tastes but spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had requested a quiet room and this certainly met that requirement. Food was lovely and would recommend the confit of lamb. Have never had this before but it was tasty and well presented. Our only minor complaint was the height of the dining room chairs compared to the table. They are too low, but a cushion solved the problem for me and the waitress was happy to find an alternative chair for my husband. Would definitely stay again if in this part of the world.

Attended a birthday meal last Saturday which was held in a room located upstairs (the beacons room) it was a lovely size and perfect for the 9 of us! Staff were brilliant and very helpful. Food was outstanding and everyone enjoyed it, would definitely recommend and return.

this was the perfect Hotel for a quick night away with the wife. All though the hotel is in need of some much needed TLC the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfy. will be back when we both need to just get away for a quite night and relax.

Room Tip: not sure what it would be like when a function is taking place

Booked online without realising we had driven past it many times. Really friendly welcome, room (23) with fantastic views. Food in restaurant very good and a bit different -local produce featured. Nicely served (both presentation and staff). Pleasant pool - not Olympic size, but good for a hotel, reasonable size fitness suite, excellent breakfast and a bill that didn't take the breath away. Bed was past its best, but apart from that really pleased.

Room Tip: Don't know if all rooms have a view - ask for one anyway!

All I can say is that the Manor is now in a state of decline. After many visits over many years the last visit was so atrocious that it will be my last. From the moment I arrived it was a stay only heard of in tales of the unexpected! Booking not recieved; room allocation wrong; went forca swim .. no towels; used my shirt. The hotel apologised and offered me dinner. The duck could have been used for squash practice at the commonwealth games! The room was tired; dirty and in need of a revamp. The view was of the side garden and a fish pond that was very "organic" and in need of a good water change..

To top it off I wanted to enjoy my welsh rarebit for breakfast...but it was anything other than rare..burnt to a crisp...

All in all one of the worst stays I have had ever in the lovely welsh countryside.

This is a classic case of not letting first impression cloud your judgement. The signage and the long private drive up to the hotel leaves much to be desired but once in reception this concern is quickly dispelled. You are immediately embraced by its warm homely charm. We were on a dinner B&B deal on both days with the added bonus of a packed lunch and bottle of wine with dinner in a basic good room No. 5. I was so glad we did not upgrade as the view from the picture window of the Beacons was to die for. Every member of staff were exemplary, friendly and could not do enough for us. Whilst the menu was somewhat limited the quality of the food was top class and this was repeated at breakfast and our packed lunches. All in all our stay was a wonderful experience and we have already booked a similar deal at a second "Taste Inn Wales" hotel further along the A40.

Room Tip: The rooms on the front of the hotel have lovely views of the Brecon Beacons and this can be achieved...
