Excellent setting, beautiful scenery.

The staff at this hotel could not be more accomodating with all needs and requests met with politeness and good grace.

Excellent food in a relaxed informal atmosphere. Individual tastes catered for on a comprehensive menu. As for a childrens menu, it did not seem to exist; what did happen was that the children were asked what they wanted, and what they wanted - they got!! Unusual in this day and age!

I addition, we also ate at The nantyfin Cider Mill which is apparenty owned by the same company and is described as a 'gastro pub restaurant' - well worth a visit.

For a hotel of its size, the leisure facilities were over and above our expectations, obviously well maintained and open from 7am til 10pm. Great for keeping the children occupied.

Rooms are well maintained, spacious in our experience with overly comfortable beds and bed accessories.

We have rebooked for Easter and have recommended The Manor Hotel to friends.

All-in-all, an incredibly enjoyable place to spend a weekend.

We stayed in the Manor in September 2005, in one of the 'Master Bedrooms', which was large. That's about all I can say in it's favour. Large but very dark. In dire need of a complete refit - creaky doors and windows overpainted umpteen times - vaguely musty smell throughout. The food was expensive and tasted like it had been prepared with 'packet mix' sauces. Thoroughly disinterested staff.

Nice views over the valley, but then you can see those without having to pay to endure the accomodation. They display an AA 3* sign on the entrance, but I'd be amazed if they hold onto that when the AA reassesses the place. I've stayed in better Travel Inns at one third of the price. Definitely one to avoid.
