Having just returned from a weekend break at the Manor, I have to say that the previous 'glowing' review seems highly suspect to me indeed. My experience is closer to the first reviewer, that of a disappointing, rather shabby place with substandard food and plain bad service. It strikes me as rather suspicious that the second reviewer could give ANY hotel very nearly full marks on EVERYTHING and recommend it to absolutely every kind of traveller. This simply doesn't ring true of the Manor.
My bed was comfortable, the views from the room very picturesque, but the food, the standard of decor, and the indifferent staff let it down badly.
