Just after xmas , popped in for lunch and it was packed . Found a table and ordered of a good menu with something for every one . The food was well presented and good , but it was normal pub fayre . In the circumstances , packed , it was to be expected . I had the impression it was always busy , so maybe they could try harder .

Thank nsperiam

Lovely dog friendly garden and plenty of parking. Visited on a Sunday and was disappointed that there was no Welsh lamb on offer. Nice meal though.

A fantastic experience as always when staying and eating at the Bear. The historic bar has oak beams, open fires and wooden floors makes this 15th Century Coaching Inn a must place to stay and eat. There is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere, a great bar and the restaurant makes this a little gem.

Visiting England from the states and popped over from Ross On Wye for lunch. Our English friends have eaten there several times and recommended it. You order from the bar and the piping hot food is delivered to your table. I had fish & chips which was the best I've had while in England. Friends had fish pie which was equally as good. This is an old hotel with great ambiance and atmosphere. Great service, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent food - what more could you ask for!!! Excellent place for lunch!!

Food and atmosphere marvellous.
No surprise that it’s very popular, which means busy, but they are geared up to manage things very well.
