This B&B has been in operation no more than 15 months, and the same holds true for the building - new build. They have only two very spacious rooms available, each with a queen size bed, and are capable of hosting no more than 5 guests per night, 1 room with a cot. Each room has its own private bath and shower.
The proprietors are primarily French speaking, their English is more than adequate for non-French speaking patrons.
This B&S can be a real challenge to locate, as it is outside of St. Paul, off of Hwy 362, on a gravel road. It is very easy to miss Hwy 362 when traveling on the 138, even though the instructions on the B&B's website are accurate.
The first night we decided to have a small dinner party in our room with the group, the hosts of this establishment were extremely accommodating, providing us with dishes, utensils, etc., and even preparing some of our dinner items that were purchased at the local grocery store. Totally unexpected, and a very pleasant surprise. By the way, we occupied both rooms for two nights.
Now for the breakfast. In our case we were presented with a three item menu, that changed the next day. There is the typical juice, coffee, tea, an assortment of breads from a local bakery, jams, and creton (pork spread containing onions and spices). On day 1 the selection consisted of a choice of either an omelet, waffles or yogurt and on the following day the choice was either crepes, yogurt, or a slice of cold cut ham wrapped around scrambled eggs. The presentation of the breakfast itself is quite nice resembling that of what one would see from a high-end restaurant or hotel. Unfortunately from our perspective, the breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, more in terms of the selection of items that were provided on the table. The hosts were extremely pleasant and helpful, and were more than willing to provide us with assistance regarding any request brought to their attention.
Note: to date we have found that very few Quebec B&B's provide an impressive breakfast, even when there is a high occupancy cost. At times we were fortunate to find B&B's that exceeded our expectations, but only by chance.
Would we return: probably not, a little pricey at $110/night/room/ for two, and the breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. The rooms are very nice and impressive, and with that, we expected that breakfast would too be such. Our inclination would be to seek out other accommodations, to see what they have to offer.
