“Nice little post office up in the Yukon region”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

We took a jeep up from Skagway to Carcross to enjoy the Yukon. When we arrived we stopped at their nice new post office to get our passport stamped, and we were warmly greeted. Nice destination for a city across the border into Canada.

“Great service!”
Reviewed 15 August 2013

Nice to see history being preserved. The postmaster was wonderful she was on her way to lunch but assured me she would stamp up my package giving it a Yukon flare before sending it off. My friend enjoyed the stamps a lot. You can pick up free local Yukon Newspapers here as well.

“The Oldest Continuously Used Post Office in Canada”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

This is the oldest post office in continuous use in Canada. It was built in 1905. Here you will find a Pony Express poster in the window of a one room post office. One will also find a friendly helpful postal worker behind the counter, ready to assist with all your postal needs and knowledgeable about the postal stamps in circulation as well as the history behind this facility. One also may procure (at no cost) a Yukon Territory (YT) "Passport" in which one can cancel a Canadian postal stamp (which do cost) and cancel the same with a Carcross (Caribou Crossing) Postal cancellation stamp of their choosing (several choices). One may then proceed on to other historic visitor sites throughout the YT and have their passports stamped with other cancellation stamps as well. Fill in the whole passport to maybe win a collectible pin. This is neat to do with the kids if you are traveling around the YT. It is also a neat introduction into the world of postage stamp collecting. While there, I discovered a Canadian commemorative stamp issued of the first Postmaster General for Canada... who was....? None other than Ben Franklin, of course, - the same Ben Franklin who started the mail system in the U.S. Go figure that one. : )

“Revenge of the Snail Mail”
Reviewed 16 October 2012

A must keep to Carcross, Yukon! Longest consecutive operational Post Office in Canada. Full of life for those who live there. Very cool. Excellent delivery - my postcard in 5 days, my huge package in 7. Go Mail!

“Very cool”
Reviewed 17 August 2012

This is the oldest post office....so cool!
We didn't go inside because it was closed when we were there, but it is supposed to be worth going inside!
The outside is not a letdown - so clearly old and well preserved...I can just envision when it was new!
Go see it if you're near Carcross! Try to catch it during opening hours!
