From the moment we walked in we were very welcomed! Anything we needed the staff was super helpful with! It is a hostal so privacy is not great, but the walls were thick and we never had trouble sleeping. I think they are adding on a hotel wing. The front room was great for hanging out and talking to other hikers. Honestly the best part was the staff though, just super friendly!

Staff were friendly and always willing to help when asked. Bedrooms were warm and beds very comfortable. However having read previous reviews was disappointed with the state of the bathroom and the breakfast (which was only basic). Should note the showers have excellent pressure and hot water. But wifi was very weak - not sure if this is just El Chalten in general though. Location is really good for both the Laguna Torre and Laguna Los Tres walks, and only 15 minutes from the bus terminal.

Overall Kospi is nice and good value - it's still very new & has a nice common area with comfy sofas and Tv. All the beds are really comfortable and the heating is good so the hostel is nice and warm at night. Breakfast was a little disappointing - we got three slices of white toast and two slices of cake each with butter and jam, along with a cup of tea or coffee. Brown / whole grain bread and some fruit or eggs would have been a good addition. Bathrooms are quite smart but could do with being a bit cleaner & the bathroom was generally very damp. But the showers were really good - great pressure and nice and hot. The owners / staff are really helpful, just ask. Located a little off the main road it's nice and quiet, but noise from the common area and in the corridor travels and it is noisy if you want to get an early night - an extra door separating the corridor with the rooms from the common area would be a good addition, as well as signs reminding people to be quiet in the corridor outside rooms.

This hostel is still very new. The staff were so warm and welcoming and nothing was a hassle. The rooms were clean and warm and the beds comfortable. The communal area was great with nice comfy couches. Wifi was slow but still the best connection in town! The only downside was that there is not a kitchen available for use - although i was aware of this at the time i made my booking & they actually have a restaurant there were you can purchase dinner. The breakfast was nice but it did get a bit repetitive after a few mornings. Also the location is close to the trails, meaning you are one of the first to make it back to your hostel whe you arrive in the town!! I know that I was glad about that after some of my long days walking!
Overall I would stay here again.

As others mentioned before, this place is very new. Therefore, everything is still flawless and sparkling. It's nicely decorated and rooms reminds me a bit of home plus it wasn't full so we've got our own room which was intended for four. Many people haven't heard of it so you'll get to be one of the first visitors ever and that feels great. Bed is so comfortable and each one has a socket and e reading light.
Breakfast is pretty good, you get some nice toasts, a muffin, orange juice, jam, and a pretty good coffee is made for you. Unlike different places, the staff brings you everything ready and you don't even need to wash your own dishes. I'm not sure if that's just temporary till this place gets full or that's the concept. Anyway breakfast is fine and they also offer an extended one which we never needed.

Except all that, all of the staff were so caring and considering. My friend had a problem with her foot and this guy just insisted to take us with his car to the clinic inside El Chalten. He also told the doctor in Spanish what was the problem and afterwards he went without even telling us to get her some ice to make her feel better. We were very surprised with his kindness and later the rest of the staff also offered their help.

To sum up our experience, we can only say that staff was awesome and hostel is much more like a hotel! Simply great!

Thanks, Dana and Shemor from Israel.

Reviewed 19 December 2013

I stayed here in December 2013 for 5 nights, and had an amazing time.

It´s a great little place right near the start of the main hikes up to Fitzroy and Laguna Torre, just off the main road. It´s brand new (hence why not that many reviews). Because it was so new, it was a bit quiet (I was travelling solo), but no doubt people will discover it soon - it was already starting to get busier when I was there. I had a 4 bed dorm all to myself. The showers are quite possibly the best showers I have ever had. It feels like you are under a very hot waterfall.
The 3 guys who run it, Soledad and the other two are great. Really keen to help out and make the stay as fun as possible.
El Chalten is absolutely amazing if you like hiking or the wild outdoors. It¨s very similar to Torres del Paine, but better for day hikes. Having said that it´s easy to do 2 or 3 day hikes and go camping which is what I did. You can hire a tent, sleeping bag and the cooking stuff for about 110 pesos per night.
Anyway, great place. Highly recommended

This hostel is lovely and excellent value for money. We were lucky to have a 3 bed dorm all to ourselves and the price was great. The only reason there are few reviews is that it's newly opened.

Everything is brand spanking new. Rooms are stylishly decorated with crisp white sheets and warm blankets & the new beds are amazingly comfy. Bathrooms are clean and look more like a hotel than a hostel. Water is piping hot and endless, just exactly what you need after a long day of hiking. The communal area has flat screens and a bar with beer and Patagonian wine. They also have a really good little menu of traditional food.

The location is ideal for the trail heads to Torre, Fitzroy & the waterfall, about 10 mins walk from the bus station.

The three friends that run this place are great, so very friendly, warm and welcoming, they really did everything to make our stay the best possible, helping us out with bus and plane info and letting us use their kitchen to make sandwiches etc. We intended to stay a couple of days but ended up staying 4 nights. We would have loved to stay longer.

I highly recommend this hostel.
