A good location on a lovely tree filled square, plus a very pleasant and peaceful garden at the back. Breakfast OK if you like toast and instant coffee. Staff pleasant and friendly.
BUT if you book online be sure to book in Argentine pesos. We booked with US$ showing on the site never thinking it would matter as Areco say they only accept payment in local curency, and we knew the peso price. The booking site the peso price to US$ at the official rate, but Areco insisted on converting it back at the black market rate, rather than just charging us the peso price, adding 86 pesos a night to our bill. They would not budge on this even when shown the price in pesos. BEWARE! Book in Pesos. (see photo of bill for 5 nights in private room with shared bathroom at off season rate. Should have been less than 1400 pesos)
Probably would have scored higher but for this, though beds a bit sad.
