We shared one big local fish plate with vegetables and it was really nice. The friendly owner is from Chile and prepared as well a very good Pisco Sour. We appreciated the fact that we were able to share one big dish for two and that he refilled our cocktail glass during the meal, which is something not happening so often in restaurant!

We ate here our last night on Rapa Nui.
The owner served us, and mentioned that he had some fresh local lobster and some rape rape (a local small lobster). So we got lobster for two, and rape rape for one. Two of us ordered off the menu - beef lasagna and tuna lasagna. Home-made noodles, great sauce, fresh tender tuna. Really good.
The lobster and rape rape were both large dishes, well-cooked, with spectacular presentation and great taste. The owner and his wife helped us open and eat them.
We had chips, pita, and two different kinds of olive oil for dipping before the entrees.
The kids came by to say goodnight to Mom and Dad, very cute family, very friendly.
Service time was average for a cooked to order meal.
We left feeling really satisfied, with both full bellies and memories of a special meal.
Cost was a little on the high side: about 115,000 CLP/ 230 USD for five people, no alcohol, 10% tip included. But we felt it was worth it.
One note: The restaurant is a little out of the way, even though it is in the center of town. From the main street, Atamu Tekena, take the little dirt road next to the Dominican Restaurant down in the direction of the harbor/ocean. Take the first right, Mamma Nui will be on your right.

This place is on a side street in front of Tahatai Hotel and close to Tupa Hotel and has its pizza oven as well as a fire pit in the front yard. We had dinner twice here and the pastas and the pizza are very good.
The first time, we were served in no time, there was only another couple inside and the service was excellent. The second time, we were 3 tables ordering pretty much at the same time and it took about an hour to be served, service was still good, but it took more time.

Definitely the restaurant you should visit while staying on easter island. The owners are awesome and so attentive, you feel so welcome and very relaxed. We went there before flying back to Santiago, the owner even brought us to the airport after enjoying and truly delicious meal. We had ceviche, grilled local fish with sauted vegetables and camote. All really well prepared, you can taste that they truly enjoy preparing the dishes. They also served the best pisco sour on the Island, tried various places and by far this was the best pisco sour.
I loved the location as well, very nice garden with nice ocean view and very close to hotel Taha Tai.
they also serve freshly prepared pizza, though I did not taste them they looked delicious. Next time we go back to the islad we will go there again (and more than once).
So go off main street and walk to this restaurant, you will be amazed by the hospitality and delicous parrilla campesina.
