I could nearly give this hotel a "Very Good" but age is catching up with it in some areas. The decor in the public areas is very 30 years ago but the guest rooms are good quality, neat and clean. There are great views from many rooms, ours being a single digit room. I liked this hotel and the staff greeting us were friendly and helpful but it's a pity I cannot say the same about the dining room staff. Yes they had a big group, a private charter group coming into tea in an hour and the staff did not seem to care about anybody else.
This hotel is worth giving a go at the right price.

Room Tip: A single digit room has good views and balcony.

This is a great location on Easter Island and the rooms are okay but nothing special. I was able to tour the new Hanga Roa hotel and that looks like it will be the place to stay once they open their doors. I was here for the sights not to hang out in the room so this worked out just fine.

The service at the reception is wonderful, kind and they recommend nice restaurants and places to visit. They make your stay at Easter Island special, as this is a once in a lifetime trip. It is a beautiful island and can not be compared to anything in the world. The stone statues are carved and the stories behind it a true mystery. THe men on the island are the most strong and man-ly I have ever seen, probably why so many European ladies stay there after a visit... The food in the hotel is simple and targeted from Spanish tourists, the staff in the restaurants stars angry at you and whenever you ask for something they sigh and stroll to the kitchen. Take a shower early as hot water runs out quickly. As there is no luxury hotel on the island, it is a good choice, as you only sleep here and be sightseeing all day.

The hotel is beautifully located on the coast, but well overpriced for the looks of the rooms and the services offered. Breakfast offered every morning, but each morning had the same old ham and pies... In other words, not too many varieties, no too much food. The juice was always lacking and never refilled on time. We had hard times booking the room and receiving confirmation and though visiting the island was an AMAZING experience, the hotel left us a bitter taste in our mouths.

The fame of the Iorana Hotel rests on the fact that it housed NASA staff while they were building the airport to accommodate emergency Space Shuttle landings, lots of photos behind the reception desk to prove it. The attitude of the desk staff left something to be desired, but the owner in particular was very unfriendly and, I would say, homophobic.

The location is beautiful and dramatic, right on the ocean. It's a crying shame that the whole poolside bar scene isn't better set up, pretty basic, they could do so much with it. The Iorana is a tad far from the main areas, walkable, but in pitch black at night. Rooms are spacious, but get one with AC!

My friend and I went for a "girl's trip" to Easter Island and stayed at this property. Our room was functional without having any extra comforts. The view from our deck was amazing which was important to us. The breakfast and dinner were very good at the hotel and there was wifi that worked well in the lobby. We definitely enjoyed our stay and were relieved that some of the negative reviews on trip advisor didn't pertain to our experience at this hotel. We never had a hot water issue or ants like others have noted. The only thing that bothered us, is that we weren't allowed to flush the toilet paper down the toilet. It had to be thrown away into a trash bin. We found that to be a little unhygienic but have encountered that before in some European countries. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

Although the hotel is not in or close to town, it is about 30-40 minute walk or a $4.00 taxi ride to the town center. The hotel is right on the ocean with great views. The breakfast buffet was about what you would expect. Good air conditioning, good water pressure, plenty of hot water. Rooms and bathrooms are a good size. Staff is very friendly and try hard to make stay as comfortable as possible. WiFi is avaiable in the lobby area for a small fee. There is a swimming pool at the hotel and a natural pool down the hill from the hotel built in the rocks and filled with sea water as the tide goes in and out.
