Unless you go big dollars, choices are limited in Easter Island. This hotel is family run and they are very friendly.

The location is walkable for the airport and town. It has a pool and basic wifi.

Luxury it is not, but a comfortable friendly place to stop for a few nights.

Very close to the airport, could almost have walked except for large roller bags on cobblestone roads.

Room was very basic although large. Soft mattress, air conditioner - no remote/control unit provided but fan did the job. No hot water in the morning in the shower.

Standard European buffet breakfast.
Internet in reception and foyer although pretty slow.

Pool was a welcome relief after a day of touring.

Lovely place to stay with a pool and spacious seating area around the pool and reception. The gardens were beautiful and very relaxing. Good breakfast with lots of fruit. Very helpful reception staff. Thought the rooms very basic initially but the surroundings grew on you and I enjoyed staying there, The only real problem was the location. A 20min walk from the centre which would be fine if it wasn't so hot. Its worth taking the 2000 pesos taxi ride even if its a bit of hassle. You can easily walk to the airport with your luggage from this hotel but you won't be disturbed by its proximity as there's only 1 flight a day! Wi-Fi only available at reception.

Clean and spacious rooms, very well kept pool and garden, friendly staff. Just perfect for the price. Just one downside, breakfast is not the best, but good enough coffee, tea and fresh bread and local avocado. 2 minutes walk from the airport, 20 minutes walk to town. Enjoyed every minute of out stay!

We found the Manutara clean and tidy. Breakfast buffet was quite reasonable, with cold meats and fruits, and good bread. No air conditioning in this hotel, and room was HOT, hard to sleep at night. Nice courtyard pool area. Except for manager, staff did not have much english, but tried hard to please. Main drawback is that it is located about 25-30 minutes walking from town center--no sidewalks for the first little bit from the hotel. Taxis are quite cheap though--about $US 4 per trip anywhere in town. Incidentally, if you are looking for a great place where the locals eat empanadas, fajitas, and the Easter Island version of hot dogs, eat at Club Sandwich on the main street downtown. Light lunch for two about $US 12, which is great price for Easter Island! Otherwise, food is quite expensive and hit and miss for quality. At La Koleta (on the main wharf) the chicken risotto was the best we have had anywhere! Tuna steak was a little dry but probably my own fault for ordering it well done. Nice view of the ocean. Not especially cheap though--about $US 60 for two, with water to drink, no dessert, and no frills, except a free bread and sauce appetizer that was very good.

Room tip: We downgraded the room because it had no air conditioning and was HOT--never cooled off at night despite having a breeze blow in the bathroom window and out the front window. But at least the windows had screens! Ask at check-in for the coolest room, if they have any!
