We stayed for 1 week at the Plaza Hotel. Friendly staff, good breakfast, rooms/bathrooms (modern) were o.k. but do not justify the high price. The hotel is 1/2 block from the Plaza de Armas so it tends to be noisy if you get one of the rooms with a small balcony facing the narrow street that leads to the Plaza. Taxis are not patient and will honk their horns whenever. People talking on the street can be heard easily from the room which was on the 2nd floor. Location is great. You are near the main busy parts of town. There seemed to be a parade everyday of some sort including a funeral procession. The hotel had a nice courtyard, 2 computers to surf on the internet, TV with cable and a few channels in english.
