My first trip to Los Roques in my 37th birthday with my family. A really, really expensive experience for us venezuelans, and we didn't get what we've paid for. The isle has troubles with energy source but the posada has troubles with the maintenance of their brakers and electricity system. Our first night (with a 1 year old) was awful because our air conditioners didn't awake when the light came back several times over the night and when I woke up the manager, his room was cold because his voltage regulator did work well! The food wasn't bad at all but it lacked of imagination, because of being in a caribbean isle, one would expect all kinds of fish and seafood, but the meals for the beaches were rice with ckicken and potato salad with canned tuna, and always coke or water, no fruit juices or iced tea for a healthy alternative.
I think he was doing his best but it isn't enough. Points in favor: very clean house, beautiful details, the manager made me a delicious passionfruit pie for my birthday, and was very kind and helpful in many daily situations. The keys are the highlight of the trip (specially Cayo de Agua) because they make you forget all the bad things forever... they are the best beaches all over the world. White sand made of deintegrated corals and shells that doesn't ever get hot even when the sun is at it best, cristaline waters with so many different blues and nice snorkeling. Thank god for that paradise.
