“Great place”
Reviewed 11 April 2008

Great place. One of the most beautiful places in the caribbean yet to be discovered. This is not he place to go if you want resorts or all-inclusive, this is a place where you just can sleep on posadas(42 on the island), ones very good and others not so good. I stayed at Piano y Papaya, lovely ambience, good breakfast and excellent attention for your requirements, fairly priced for the island. It is pretty expensive but it´s worth every penny if you want to forget the world.

“not as good as it used to be”
Reviewed 27 September 2007

It's my 3rd viist and it is still a beautiful place but the problems with venezuelan tourism and political situation in the country mean it will also be my last
maiquetia airport is awful and possibly dangerous
the airlines that fly to los roques are dangerous
and increasingly, the posadas are getting very expensive and the food is awful
no service

“Posada la laguna”
Reviewed 29 August 2004

This past february I spent four days at Los Roques National Park. I stayed at posada La Laguna. Owners Mavy and Massimo Focanti were delightful hosts. The posada was very stylish. The food was great !. The Dive operation I went with was Eco Buzos right around the corner from the posada. Salesmen Juan Ruiz and Rodrigo were extremely friendly. Dive Guide Aramis was very professional and helpful. The diving on the southern barrier reef of Cayo Sal was hands down one of the most beautiful experiences yet. This is pure virgin territory here folks. If you thought cozumel was beautiful you ain't seen nothing yet. Both hard and soft coral life abound, very fishy and colorful. right from the top-drawer world-class-dives. The surface intervals were quite adventurous and were spent on remote lees of the caye. Getting here takes a little bit of patience. Try Los roques national park next time. You won't regret it.
