“good food”

This restaurant was owned by our hotel and thankfully got a table with out reservation.
Food was good, service was ok. A tad pricey.

“So good we went back again”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

We stayed in Sidi Bou Said for three nights. We didn't try this one at first as we were put off the solid-looking bouncers at the doorway. But once inside, it is spacious, well laid out and we could not fault the service. In that it is used for local weddings, even the locals must enjoy going there. It was raining so we were inside but there is plenty of space so you are not too close to other diners.
It is a bit pricey, and I think they should include the water free of charge. Our meals were good, and there was enough choice on the menu that we could go back a second night and eat something different. They are also flexible e.g. I didn't want three glaces, so they gave me one and charged accordingly. We certainly recommend it as your first choice if you are visiting Sidi Bou Said.

“Tourist Trap with stunning views”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

"Dar Zarrouk" is not the place for authentic Tunisian cuisine, all they serve is the tourist trap version. The service is slow and inattentive, and whilst their wine list is very good neither the waiters nor the barman know much if anything about their wines. The food is definitely not worth the money but the views are stunning, so I recommend to go there for a sundowner only.

“Didn't Disappoint!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014

I had a business dinner at Dar Zarrouk a couple weeks ago. It was well done. The atmosphere was top notch for a nicer restaurant, the service was attentive (overly attentive even perhaps? The impeccably attired wait staff was nearly swarming about the place), the food was delicious, and the view was outstanding overlooking the coast. Dar Zarrouk is situated in the lovely Sidi Bou Said area of Tunis, well known for it's picturesque Old City feel. You will enjoy, it's first rate. For dinner it might be too high end/gourmet for kids, althought the place was super friendly. I'll be back for sure to dine again at Dar Zarrouk.
