“Lovely stay at Amarisa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

Having just returned from our garden tour through the south of England, we happily recommend Amarisa B&B. We stayed there for two nights, enjoyed the great hospitality and good breakfast as well as the cosy bedroom and modern bath. Visited Alfriston Clergy House, Monk's House and Charleston Farmhouse as well as Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters all in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay and hope you will enjoy your journey to Germany as much as we did our "grand tour".

Not far from Lewes and we found our hosts the ideal couple to provide the best possible service to the traveler. The house and garden are beautiful and we appreciated the advice to enjoy a superb dinner at the Yew Tree public house which is only a couple of miles away. We also enjoyed an excellent full English breakfast before we left and we have no hesitation in recommending Amarisa as a place to stay. It was a blessing to visit,

I had a very nice stay with Dr. and Mrs. Ely at their home in Berwick, enjoyed their exceptional flowerbeds and first-rate breakfast. There is a separate bathroom downstairs and the bedroom is very comfortable and quiet. Two minutes walk from the local station. Very good location for a reasonable Glyndebourne stay. The Elys are willing to drive you to a local pub, as needed.

Will stay again

I have stayed here twice, once alone and once with friends. It is walking distance from the station which was ideal for my first visit by train. It is an excellent location for the coast and the South Downs. The house is peaceful and quiet and the garden and conservatory beautiful. Katie and Paul are excellent hosts and went out of their way to help with suggestions of things to do. The breakfasts were excellent and the tomatoes for breakfast home-grown! I will be back!

We stayed overnight as we were going to the nearby Glyndebourne festival (for which this is a very handy location). Being very close to the station, it is also easy to get to Eastbourne, Lewes and Brighton, as well as the South Downs.
Katie and Paul were very welcoming and helpful making us feel very at home.

This is a great base for the area!

The hospitality was first class. Our room was very clean and homely. They catered for our extra needs and made us feel welcome like part of the family. A big bonus for me that it was the first B&B I've visited with a decent powerful shower which came in useful after our recent heat wave. Thanks guys we will certainly come again. R&M

We had a lovely visit to Amarisa. The hospitality of Katie and Paul was generous and welcoming. Berwick is in a great location with the South Downs and the sea just a short drive away. The area is perfect for cycling and walking. We hope to return soon to Sussex!
