$45 ($49.95 w/tax at checkout) gets you a double queen with cinderblock indoor walls, dilapidated drop ceilings and fixtures covered with dust and spiderwebs. window on the door was "fixed" with duct tape and the door itself was ill-fitting of the frame and didn't lock securely.
sheets obviously hadn't been recently laundered. carpet in the room has seen better days (in the 1970's) and the threshold to the bathroom was rusting overhead and filthy. we could hear the neighbors talking/tv throughout the night. and the pool (although we weren't there for the pool) was half-full and 100% green sludge.
on the bright side, the owner is a sweetheart and does things the old fashioned way. more of a handshake deal and you can pay me in the morning when you're ready to checkout. and we didn't see any bugs, so that was good.
i have pretty low standards, but won't be back to the riverview in jasper. pay the extra 20 or 30 bucks for something up the street.
oh, and eat at the ozark cafe. it made the visit worthwhile.
by the way, we stayed here based on tripadvisor and other online reviews. hence, this review (our first).
