Amazing and creative foods. Mini BLTs were heavenly and the tuna tartar roll was better than I've had in Los Angeles. Fantastic decor and delightful staff. It's a gem buried in the cold and vastness of Arkansas.

“Best in Arkansas”
Reviewed 4 September 2006

James at the Mill is actually in the city limits of Lowell, next to Fayetteville Arkansas. This is the best restaurant in the State in the most attractive building of any restaurant in the State. Don't miss it if your pocketbook permits. It can be pricey...but it's the real thing. Real cooking, high quality, artistic presentation, excellent wines, diverse menu, gorgeous setting, good service. Miles James, an excellent cook marries the daughter of one of the South's most famous architects, James Lambeth, and together they all create and run this amazing place around a historic mill. They also created an inn which is down the hill. Commercialization ala the Walmart crowd is creeping all around what used to be a bucolic setting. But the grounds are big and beautiful with Koi ponds and waterfalls. The food is a mixed bag....very diverse. The best thing on the menu is a multi-course tasting menu which comes either with or without courses of wine. Food is very diverse and expensive. Never had anything I didn't like a lot and it was always worth the heavy price.
