“Good getaway for the weekend”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

We had a corporate meeting for 3 days at this event, and this facility is well suited for this. The hotel is spread over a supposedly 50 acre property. While this gives a sense of space, the downside is that the cottages are spread out. Although golf carts are available, be advised that there may be a slight delay in getting this. The rooms are nice, though could have a bit bigger. The bathrooms are of good size, with an open sky shower a special attraction. The resort has a decent gym, a good pool and conference facilities. Service is good and does not have complaints.

Room Tip: Take a room near the reception/pool area if you do not want to walk long

Architecture & interior design - this place really puts Kenya on the contemporary international scale resort map. The common areas are stunning with use of Masaai themed designs. The stone and wood work is breathtaking. Rooms are very well appointed, spacious, and the wet room showers are lovely. The resort catered to our wheelchair friendly needs.
Restaurant & bar - Typical Kenya hotel buffet fare which I expected to be of higher quality given the cost of a weekend at this resort vs. their peers. Selection is good, they went out of their way to cater to my vegetarian parents, and the spread is impressive, however, the food was unimaginative and of average quality at best. I had a nightcap at the bar after dinner one evening. An impressive bar setting but typical stingy drink portions and high prices kept me from returning again. The single malt whisky shot barely wet the glass but broke the bank!
Amenities - Conference centre looks impressive and clearly a popular destination judging by the political big shots in attendance. Pool is fantastic, but usual terrible service as it took over 20 min to get a drink when the bar is less than 20 ft. away! Gym is fantastic too and very well appointed with high end gym equipment. The gardens are immaculate and make the best of the local weather to create an oasis feel once entering the gate to the property.
Staff - Very helpful housekeeping staff. Reception staff were friendly but usual Kenyan bureaucracy makes the check-in and check-out experience anticlimactic with the slow pace. Restaurant staff try hard but are not particularly competent.

Room Tip: I loved the ground floor rooms for the private garden with lush hedges, however the first floor room...

Stayed for a 2 day workshop - smart facilities, pleasant staff and great rooms, but let down by the poor quality of the food - and 'unsophisticated' restaurant serving staff.
Regrettably I suffered a violent bout of food poisoning at the end of the second day, which I strongly suspect was caused by poor food processing/hygiene. A colleague also suffered.
For this reason I would avoid this hotel in the future.

The staff were very friendly and the rooms very cozy and spacious. I loved especially the open shower... but you need to take a hot shower, early morning - after, the water is warm. We cant wait to go back again in August.

The best thing about Enashipai is the incredible rooms. Not the biggest of the options in Naivasha (you can't beat the Naivasha Sopa rooms for size) but still spacious and beautifully furnished. My first stay was in one of the rooms with the outdoor showers and I loved the giant showerhead. Have also stayed in a cottage with a separate living room and fully equipped kitchen though we ate every meal in the living room. It is abit of a trek to get to the cottages from the dining room/ pool area but they have motorized buggies to pick you up. The gym is also excellent...small (I think there were 3 treadmills) but with a nice variety of machines and weights. I didn't try the spa so can't comment on that. It is quite pricey and I am not 100 percent convinced that it is worth SO much more than other hotels in the area. But it is wonderful.

The first impressions are of grandeur. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated. The showers even those that are not under the open skies are a pleasant experience.
The hotel however does not capture the spirit of Naivasha which is one of space and a shimmering rift valley lake, at least from the ground floor one cannot see the lake and there are unnecessary man made formations such as rock gardens/ short scenic walls that block the view of the lake. Ground cottages are surrounded by hedges which gives one a sense of claustrophobia rather than privacy and contrary to the spacious rooms.
The early morning view from the veranda was disturbed by the continuous hum of a generator. There is also some construction going on one wonders why the hotel was opened before completion. The food is mediocre and the salads are non existing more like a garnish… However if you are do need a good conference venue then the Enashipai is the location. There are a number of ample rooms for meetings large and small which are will equipped. The staff is not very well trained but are friendly and helpful. It must get busy at weekends because when I finally did take a walk to the lake there I noted gardens that cater for special functions. It would be a nice place to get married and take your own chef along.

Room Tip: Do not take a room near the generator
