We held a workshop at the hotel and stayed for four days/five nights. The conference room was set up as desired and hotel staff were very helpful in assisting with the A-V and other needs. We visited in August and there was no heat and thus, it was chilly in the rooms (conference and hotel). Breakfast, lunch and dinner was served in a large dining area that had a roof but no outside walls; thus it was a bit chilly also. However, the food selection and taste was great. Our first room was a distance from the main labby and conference rooms. The rooms were spacious with twin beds, a sunken sitting area and large bathroom with shower. The TV and internet connections did not work in these rooms. We moved to smaller rooms close to the main building, which were more quaint with a corner fireplace, full side bed, small shower and toilet. I had stayed at another hotel in the Rift Valley previously that was less focused on golf and tennis and had giraffes and other wild animals roaming the grounds, which I preferred. The small bar was comfy with a center fireplace.

Dear Guest,
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. It can be chilly in June and July but we do offer warmers to help mitigate this situation. I will check why this was not the case for you.
Thanks you for sharing the feedback. This is truly appreciated.

Stayed for 2 nights for business workshop and was pleasantly surprised with overall facilities. The resort is expansive, well maintained and landscaped and during my short stay I used the golf driving range and the tennis courts are in very good condition. Chalets are spread out over the resort and my room was comfortable with all usual amenities. Good shower, hot water readily available and satellite TV, wifi in restaurant, reception and conference rooms. Getting to the rooms at night can be a long walk depending on location of your chalet and you may need resort vans. Good variety of food served during buffet breakfast and dinner. Improvements: Do not disturb signs needed since room service staff can drop in at inopportune time. Some areas need better lighting at night for improved comfort when getting to the rooms at night.

We stayed here as part of a flying safari with Heritage Hotels and organised by Virgin. This was the middle section between Samburu and Masai Mara. We stayed two nights in two rooms with the most amazing views across the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha.
During our stay we had a very informative nature walk with Daniel who took us into the grounds to view the birds and plant life. He had a lot of knowledge and was really enthusiastic to share it and teach us about the wildlife. He even took time to show us his own photos of birds back at the hotel afterwards.
We had two fantastic trips with Jack, our guide for the stay. The first was to Lake Nakuru National Park where we were really excited to see both white and black Rhino, as well as much game and wildlife. The second trip was to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride out to Crescent Island where we got wonderful views of wildlife, hippo and birds of prey from the water. Jack was also very informative and was always keen to show us the best sightings and share his knowledge.
While Daniel and Jack were extremely attentive and we would certainly rate them both as 'excellent' the other staff at the Lodge were a little off hand and not especially interested in us. This is obviously a centre for conferences and large business parties and we had the feeling that we came second to them. This was a stark contrast to the staff at the other two safari locations where we were made to feel extremely welcome and special at all times.
This being said, we were pleased to have visited The Rift Valley and would certainly recommend a short stay at this Lodge as part of a holiday package that included other locations.

Room Tip: If you don't mind the older rooms, but specifically want the amazing view, ask for the rooms wit...

I am a regular visitor of holiday properties and campsites in Naivasha but had never been at the Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort for an overnight stay...Each time am in Naivasha and we happen to enquire about it, everyone had something nice to say about the level of luxury and the golfing experiences to match... it was thus a matter of time before i could take a personal experience!

I thus had this expectation of a 7 star experience in Dubai when we decided to put up there for 2 nights during my birthday. I must admit the panoramic views are truly made in heaven and the general design of the great resort accommodation was well thought out and blends in very well with nature....

But there are few flows that in my view that didn't work for me.....

1). We had opted for full board option but at check-in at around 8:45 PM we are informed that we need to dash to a nearby restaurant for an al-a-cart dinner as there was no buffet prepared for that particular evening given that a large group had gone out...Surely that is a detail we could have been saved at first and i believe a resort of such calibre can afford consistency of service irrespective...!

2). Then the menu of the day that had a choice of two meats is brought..We opted for both only to learn again after a 10 minute wait that we had to opt for one as there other item was not available.....That meant after a lengthy drive to the great resort..you have another 1.5 hours of rest wasted at a restaurant-something we had not planned for!

3). The bed was truly uncomfortable and this i can say from an over 20 different property experiences globally...its like a gym. The hot water was also erratic with caution advised and the noise f from the front side of the door-1034 and the boiler inside can easily make you not to sleep. I do love birds but the fact that one has a nest inside the roof-they need to check- made it even more unbearable- bad noisy experience indeed...the whole night! I believe they can do better to improve the sleep quality in their well tucked away accommodations with lovely views and lighting in this resort requires complete overhaul.....

The breakfast-lunch & dinner buffet, (albeit they can do better with the set-up given so much room inside).. was delicious...I also feel basics like a mini bar in the room , an iron box, a lotion, and such kinda small things that you find even in luxury properties would also improve guest experiences and ensure they live up to their great luxury reputation...

Nonetheless the staff were helpful & courteous and my final advice is for their uniform to be even more welcoming for a hospitality facility....Though the staff were dressed up like rangers that is natural and beautiful for the environment- the friendliness and warmth of their personalities is actually killed as the feeling is that a security officer or a guard is serving you...quite intimidating!

All in all we had an okay stay!!

Room Tip: All rooms have a character of their own... if you need a quite night, go for the "ground floor...

Stayed here for a business conference and thankfully I didn't have to pay the exuberant rates that the hotel charges and have to put up with a terrible stay.

The only good thing about this place is the fantastic views.

The room was adequately furnished; however the bed was extremely uncomfortable. There were issues with cleanliness in the shower and there was no hot water and no pressure either (room 5382). I complained on three different occasions to three different staff and nothing was done about this.

Few of the staff were pleasant and happy to help; most of the others were nonchalant and couldn't really be bothered to assist you. The meal spreads are pretty decent; however the food is not properly warmed and as a result food is always lukewarm/cold.

Pretty disappointing for a hotel associated with a brand that portrays a luxury experience.

We stayed here one night while on safari. The rooms are very nice, but definitely needed more light! The area where the bags are stored had no light and it was difficult to find what we needed. The rooms have a sitting area and balcony and look out over the ridge. Took a picture of the beautiful sunrise the next morning. Food was OK but not amazing.

The property is spread out and coming back from dinner, it was dark and lightly raining and I got lost. There is very little path lighting and the light was out which would have illuminated the side directing me to my room. Very frustrating after a long day when tired and just wanting to go to bed.

The staff were all very helpful and accommodating. I would stay there again. Just would ask for a room closer to the reception/dining area.

Room Tip: Get a room close to the reception/dining area. This property is very spread out and it was difficult...
