MasaiMara has been my dream destination since childhood. I was on the 7th sky when my husband said "We are going to Kenya for this new year !!" i was supposed to organise stuff, i was a bit concerned since i have a 9 yr old daughter, therefore i frantically started searching for "right people" to guide us. I thank my stars that i booked our entire safari with Ali [Vumbee jeep safaris].

Our friend philosopher and guide 'Kibaki' was an excellent person. They really made our stay comfortable and the entire journey memorable, so much so that we want to go there again and this time not only for the safari but meet our friends from Vumbee jeep safaris !!

Thank Fahmeeda

Our Safari of Tsavo East, Kenya with Vumbi Jeep Tours was fantastic! We did a 2 day safari. Our driver was Mattana and was a great driver....Thanks!. We had the vehicle to ourselves, private tour. We stayed at the the Manyatta Luxury Camp, lovely rooms and plunge pools and had lunch, dinner and breakfast.
We saw loads of different animals and even a lion just before we left on the second day.
I booked it all via email before we left the UK and as arranged our driver appeared at 6.30am, we paid Ali G at the ned of the first day. All was great and I would highly recommend a safari with these guys.
Thanks Ali G!

We had a fabulous safari experience courtesy of Ali at Vumbi Jeep Safaris and, although we hadn’t gone to tick any boxes we saw the ‘big five’ plus much more with fabulous views and sunsets. We took a two night/three day private tour of Tsavo East & West in one of Ali’s antique (renovated) land cruiser jeeps which was much more comfortable and, to my slightly apprehensive partner, more 'substantial' than the sometimes crowded minibuses most companies use. So, there were only the four of us in spacious, comfortable seats in the jeep as Ali tailored our safari to the behaviour of the animals and what we wanted – including teasing the more nervous in our party and it was easy to see the many sights. Ali proved a very knowledgeable and observant guide, who not only seemed to know where best to spot the wildlife, (and tell us something about them), but he also has the gift of the gab – chatting up the Rangers and other drivers for useful info which is essential if you want the best sights. The landscape was fantastic and the two lodges Ali arranged for us were also fabulous and took account of our wants; Manyatta Lodge was a luxury tented lodge with private swimming pool and great food and the other, Ngulia, although a rather dated lodge now, had amazing views and great wildlife. A really nice touch was cracking open bottle of decent chilled bubbly in the middle of the park at sunset whilst a family of elephants and an occasional giraffe loped past!

We weren’t very enthusiastic about visiting the Masai village which we did at the end of the safari and which we would have been happy to support but it was a pretty expensive, not very good, high pressure sales pitch when we got there. So, mixed feelings about that aspect.

Ali has only been going a few years (as an offshoot of his surfing & diving enterprise at Diani beach) but he is a knowledgeable and experienced guide who previously free-lanced safaris for a number of years. Ali, who is half Masai himself with extremely fluent English, (from his earlier globe trotting days), handles all the Mnarani Hotel based English speaking tours himself. We found him to be great – well organised and friendly with a good observational skills and knowledge of his wildlife. We booked from UK by email (and text & phone) and then paid in cash when we arrived.
