Amazing. I am telling you I stayed for 2nights am badly from America. The chaleys were nice, the food is gret, but the most fascinating experience is The highly experienced guide called Josphat. When is greeting you he say When welcome to Nyaru Game Lodge where technology interacts with Ecology. He say it's called Biomimicry or. Biomimetics. Bringing nature to home. I can't finish it all the best is is just visit there and yu will enjoi. The guide told us about termites, ants, plants afrika culture everything and I love it. Thanks

We've been to Nyaru in November and as we started driving along the garden route it was our first accomodation we took on our way. It's a very lovely place. We slept in this beautiful little houses which had all furniture made in African style. The man who showed us the room told us in the morning we can see the monkeys watching us curiously through the window. That we did and to us it was fascinating!
When we arrived at the lodge we immediately booked a safari and we could see giraffes, impala, zebra, waterbucks only to mention some of the animals there. The guide told us a lot of interesting stuff about the plants and animals and really knew where to go to see them. The rhino we already saw soon after entering the area on our arrival to the lodge. For me it is one of the most impressive animals there.
It is such a pity that we've only stayed for one night. But we were lucky to have a braai in the evening, it was a really delicious meal and we enjoyed having it outside on the veranda listening to all the noises of the nature around us.
All in all we can highly recommend the Nyaru Game Lodge! It is a very beautiful and familiar place with nice people doing everything for their guests to make them feel home.

3 nights simply wasn't enough if I'm honest, on arrival we were greeted by Ruan who let us chose which chalet we wanted as it was mid week and not fully booked, it allowed us to see inside the stunning buildings - the attention to detail is incredible
The showers are great - high pressure and felt like showering in a cave under a warm waterfall!
It's got a real family feel to the place. - welcoming, relaxing, peaceful and fun
Anton was great fun to chat at the bar with and was a great host along with Ruan
Food is of an extremely high standard and was an experience in itself watching the wildlife over the river as the sun set - giraffes, impala and on one night the rhino came to see what delights we were tucking into
The highlight was the quad biking and 4x4 safari - the are a must!
We got in spitting distance of the 5 giraffe, wilder beast, impala and kudu on the quad bikes - Christian was a fabulous guide with exceptional knowledge of the animals, birds, flowers and plants
The 4x4 Safari was an experience we'll never forget - getting up close and personal to mr rhino was scary yet fascinating
On our last day after a trip to the ostrich farms we had a flat tyre - Chris ever so kindly fixed it for us as had all the gear to mend a puncture - ever so kind considering our drive back to Cape Town on a Sunday
We will definately be making a return trip next year - a great location for trips to the ostrich farms and cango caves up the road plus garden route towns

Room Tip: All rooms are stunning - very hard to chose which one we wanted!

I wanted my Canadian wife (I'm south African) to experience some of the wildlife of Africa, but did not have the time to go to the Kruger. We chose Nyaru based on the ratings of tripadvisor and am so glad we did. We were fortunate to arrive on the only week where the Lodge was not fully booked and had the pool and most of the facilities to ourselves most of our stay. The food was superb with Rouan even prepared to try and make a Mojito for us (which was superb) when he had never done so before. We saw most of the wildlife there especially the Rhino at close quarters whilst out on a quad bike game drive.
Overall so fabulous we wanted to move in!! The rooms were for South African standards at least 4 star, with the staff helpful and knowledgeable. We cant wait to return to relax and recharge.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a couples stay book cabin 5 it is at the end and nice and quiet, if you have...

We were welcomed at this familiar Lodge very very friedly and we felt at home immediately. The chalets are in a lovely African style and comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights and liked the Game drive and the morning bird walk with the ranger Christian, who has a excellent knowledge in birds, animals, plants etc. There is an lovely Restaurant with veranda and we had a Braai and saw even the Rhino at night walking in the back. Everything is perfectly organised and all meals were so delicious. Next time we will come and stay for longer...it was our best accomodation on our trip at S.A. Thank you again for the hospitality.

Room Tip: We could choose between a small or a lager Chalet. So we took the upgrad and enyoid the Chalet which...

we stayed for 2 nights in Nyaru game lodge on our way up the garden route. The owners are so friendly and helpful. Dinner was superb. Its an excellent quiet location and the game drive next morning was fab too we saw rhino and giraffe and springbok and zebra and a few other animals too. Breakfast was also nice and the rooms were clean and spacious. The only downside is if someone didn't want a quiet break as it is mega peaceful there and not much going on in the evening. But if you want peace and quiet it is spot on! and overall a lovely stay we had there.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at the lodge. Highlights included a braai, sundowner picnic and the quad biking with Josphat our guide & Fabian the Rhino! Josphat was incredibly knowledgable and gave us an impressive 3 hour tour of the game lodge teaching us many new things about the animals and fauna of the area.

The nightly three course meals was great value at R165 a pop, the staff were always accommodating and the owners of this lodge truly welcome you in as if you are part of the family which make for an incredible experience.

I have no doubt that we will be back again as soon as we can.

As a side note - If you are in Mossel Bay staying here - make sure you do the Shark Dive in Mossel Bay because it's not only cheaper but you always get a much better experience
