African Oceans is an amazing hotel! Excellent value for money, huge suites and delicious breakfasts served. We were somewhat put off by the approach to Mossel Bay, as you have to drive through lots of ugly factories and industrial buildings/warehouses to get to the town, and were quite apprehensive that the hotel was going to be in amongst them all! But only a few miles away on a quiet residential street with not a factory in sight was this truly lovely hotel - probably the best I have ever stayed in. We arrived late but found the staff very hospitable and friendly. We stayed in their largest suite and were just so impressed by the size of the place - it was like having a whole house to yourself rather than just a hotel room - we had a huge living room with 3 sofas and an excellent TV and hifi system (v good sound quality), a fitted kitchen and a bedroom with en -suite bath/double shower room. All the fittings and furnishings were contemporary and well thought out. The bathroom suite in particular was very nice. They also provided books and magazines in the room which was a nice touch.
There is a lounge area downstairs with a huge TV and The hotel is at one end of the garden route so it's possibly not best placed for exploring the whole area. The dining area is in a large conservatory overlooking the garden and the beach which is literally just outside - they have a private beach area and it is possible to walk down to the sea within a minute!
Overall a perfect honeymoon hotel - only one star knocked off for the approach but they can hardly help that.
