“Nice views.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for one night when doing the Garden Route. The hotel is ok, with nice views from the room we had and the room was clean. Tha breakfast was very poor and they didn't offer us any eggs or omelette, even when the table next to us was eating eggs and beacon. The receptionist was fine but wasn't very friendly. It was a place we are not going to repeat, even our experience wasn't bad.

Rooms are spacious and very neat and clean - comfy bed! The hotel itself is located very centrally. The staff (from cleaning to management) were all super friendly and the breakfast was just delicious!

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms with the sea views are just wonderful!

We stayed here on our way along the garden route. The hotel is clean and the facilities are secure and reasonably priced. The location is not within walking distance of the beach, so be prepared to drive if you want to get to the waterfront. Wifi was unreliable at best. Nothing wrong with this hotel, but nothing to make it stand out

We stayed at this hotel for one night on the 24th December 2013.

The rooms were large and spacious and the view from the room was great.

The breakfast was good and this would be a good hotel to stay in for a short period of time.

Me and my wife stayed only one night at The Edward Charles Manor during our Garden Route trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. And to be honest, we booked this place because we had no option due to peak season and lack of planning from my side. The hotel itself is good, well located close (driving distance) to the restaurants and shops but at the same time in a calm and quiet neighborhood. The room is spacious as well as the bathroom. The breakfast had good basic options. But two things just didn't go well during our stay... The internet drove us crazy! It worked 5 minutes then goes off. Suddenly, it worked 5 more minutes and goes off again… Annoying! The second thing is the lack of employees. It was not exactly a problem, as the lady on charge of the hotel was really helpful and friendly! But when you pay almost USD 100 for a night, even in the peak season, I believe you have the right to deserve more from the establishment...

Great views over the bay. Large rooms and very comfortable. Breakfast acceptable with a selection of hot and cold. Some noise from a nearby club on the Friday night we were staying there. A little far from the main restaurants

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies.

A nice hotel with well appointed rooms. It is a little out of the way for the main town and not really walkable if you intend to go to a restaurant. The staff are very friendly and there are some really good views over the harbour but also some not so good views if you are in the wrong room.
There was an issue with ants in one of our rooms but they were confined to the toilet and did not really bother us.

Room Tip: the right hand side and rear as you look at the front of the hotel are best for views
