“Osy ~Grand Hotel”
Reviewed 21 March 2010

I stayed here for 8 nights in total. I first checked in for 4 nights before going to Zanzibar came back for one night went on Safari then for another 3 nights. I felt as if the staff were my Tanzanian family. My room had air con a fan and also fly nets at the window enabling the window to stay open without any mosi or flies getting in, not that I had any experiences with mosi or flies whilst there. The bed was comfy with fresh white sheets and clean towels daily. My room had a shower, hand basin and toilet, all very clean and modern. There was a tv with many channels available in english to watch if you want to. The breakfast was fresh juice, a range of fresh fruit to choose from, toast, jams, eggs
(scrambled, fried, omelette) and tea and coffee. No one should feel hungry after breakfast. The restaurant is on the 1st floor and has 3 balconies that look out onto the street and towards Kilimanjaro. There is a large choice of delicious freshly cooked dishes to choose from off the menus, it is freshly prepared quality food, not fast food. If you have any questions or are not sure about something then the staff are all happy to help you. This hotel is reasonably priced and in a great location with roof top views all over Moshi.

We book this hotel through website and we are a group of seven,it was not a part of our package for Kilimanjaro trekk as we have use a tours company. The hotel is nice and reasonable price, the food is good but slow, all the time the staff ask if we had any problem or we need any extra assistance. The internet service for hotel guest is free of charge. The rooms are big and has a fresh natural air so we did not use a/c or fan although it is there.we stay one night before trekk and two night after the trekk,After successfull climb the hotel surprise us with an offer of two bottle of champaign for celebration at their restaurant.Suddenly we feel as part of this hotel. We go to Zanzibar on the way back we stay one extra night in this hotel. They keep our luggage for free all those day and we find intact.

We moved into the Osy Grand after being disappointed with the Springlands. It was like a breath of fresh air; clean airy rooms, freshly cooked food, right in the heart of the town, good mix of guests, helpful staff. Don't be in a rush for the food, it is freshly prepared and takes some time but we were never disappointed.
