Stayed one night on our way to visit the Bushman. What a "WOW" atmosphere. The tents are top-notch and the surroundings are superb. We were well greeted by the staff and the owners of the lodge. Everything was well thought out and provided for. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer as one evening was just not enough time to enjoy all this lodge had to offer. Especially liked the tree house sunset view - amazing. The food was scrumptious as well. A return visit is on my Bucket List.

Room Tip: All rooms have a good view and location.

After a very bumpy and dusty ride, we arrived at the first tented lodge in our journey. We had just visited the Tortuga tribe on our way and watched them build arrowheads and knives for the Hadzabe bushmen that we were to hunt with the next day. What a unique experience for us. We found ourselves saying "each day is better than the last" more and more often. Here, we said it again. The lodge was very attractive and the food was some of the finest in our travels. They take the simple and make it seem extraordinary, down to the morning coffee delivery. The staff was friendly, the owners hands-on, and the atmosphere was relaxing and enticing. The only down side of our stay is that we were so busy touring that we didn't get time to relax and enjoy one of our favorite stops. Thankfully, the little gift shop provided memories of our favorite stops.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay, only wish it had been longer. Nani and Chris are delightful hosts. The setting is wonderful, the food fabulous, and the staff attentive and extremely pleasant. After bumping along on game drives, it was great to be able to walk around. The tents are most comfortable and you can amuse yourselves watching the vervet monkeys watching you. The pool is a nice feature too. If you have a choice, this is the place!

A wonderful location next to Lake Eyasi, good and spacious tents, good food in the covered outdoor restaurant, nice service, even at the managerial level. If you prefer, you can get a very early coffee or tea brought directly to your tent terrace. Free and quick laundry. You can climb to the lodge view tower to see the salty lake or walk to its shores from the lodge. There is also a very nice small swimming pool to refresh from the afternoon heat. The visit to Hadza hunters is recommended, however, it may take 5-6 hours, you need to leave at 6 o’clock in the morning, so take good walking shoes, some water and snacks if you do not count on raw meat offered by the tribe, if they are lucky in their hunt. The visit to Datoga tribe and blacksmiths is also worth. The road from Karatu to Lake Eyasi is a bit challenging with lot of holes and bumps and potentially of lot of dust.

We so enjoyed our stay here. It was so quiet and peaceful, admittedly we were very lucky as we were booked in for 2 nights and on the second day had the place to ourselves. It was wonderful wandering around, swimming in the pristine pool, enjoying walks to the lake and the fish pools.
We sat by the lake and watched the weaver birds courting.
We lounged on our personal chaise-longue and conversed with the Vervet monkeys. We wish we'd booked for longer.
The staff were absolutely wonderful. Our first morning we needed to start early and they had early morning tea ready for us on our verandah at 5.30 complete with biscuits. Laundry was free. The staff took us to see the striped hyena and her cub and the wonderful views from the rocks at sunset and they also washed our vehicle.
We would love to return.

This tented lodge is everything and more than you could hope for on the shores of Lake Eyassi. The setting - lush forest looking out over spectacular views of Lake Eyassi and the Ngorongoro Highlands. Small ponds dot the property and shade is always nearby thanks to the abundance of trees. We litterally felt the temperature drop dramatically when we entered the grounds. In addition, the service is friendly and attentive, the rooms are spacious and well equipped and the price is right!

If you are looking for perfect peace and quiet as well as easy access to the sites of Lake Eyassi this is the place!

Location - Lake Eyasi, not known for its wildlife, but we were hear for the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes and it is very close to the them. The roads to get here are pretty bad, but it isn't too far off the main road to the Crater.

Staff - amazing (as most camps in Northern Tanzania)

Food - very, very good. We had a nice dinner there with our guide and missed breakfast due to missing the tribes, but had a great brunch once we got back.

Rooms - very comfortable, good night sleep.

Grounds - They built a lookout area and had a nice wooden dock on the lake (even though the water didn't come to the grounds when we were there (not rainy season) They had a salt water pool and rocks to climb for a great sunset. We also saw many huge lizards (2-4 feet) which were fun to watch running by.

Overall - it was a beautiful camp and a great place to come if you want to spend time with the tribes (which I highly recommend)
