Owner description: Archaeologists date these Punic ruins back to the fifth century. Scholars agree that the site displays a good example of Phoenician town planning.

“A great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2012

These Punic rooms are one of the only sites remaining in the world. The site needs some additional explantion/interpretation.

The site is very difficult to get to without private transportation or a tour.

The site is huge and the location next to the sea gives it a wow factor

“Punic City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2012

Kerkouane is unique in that it was not over built in the Roman or later period. The site was excivated in the 1950s and still there is at least half to be examined. There you can see houses with simple mosiacs of a black ground with white tessera .In several houses hip baths still exist so too a shower basin. The museum is wonderful full of eary artifacts CLOSED ON MONDAYS
