“More than good food”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We stayed in Old Bagan and use bikes to wander around. San Thi Dar was only about 10 minutes away by bike and we decided to have lunch there. The food (chinese) was OK but it was the couple who owns the restaurant which made the most impression.
They are extremely nice and friendly and very generous.
Not only the portions were large (and very affordable) but we were also served a number of side dishes and salads (for free). They even gave us small souvenirs....
In general, the Burmese people are very friendly, but the San Thi Dar couple is probably the nicest of all...

“Good value”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

After arriving from a long trip, I stopped here for quick dinner, the eggplant curry and rice was nice and I was surprised at how little I paid for a meal here.

“Fantastic fresh food, great value, friendly owners”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

A tiny, unassuming place with the best value food I have had in Myanmar. Incredibly friendly owners serve up wonderful, freshly prepared food in huge servings. Great flavors and much better than most places in Bagan.

“Nicest people in Asia run this restaurant, generous and good food too!”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

We ate here for dinner on our second night in Bagan, as Myinkaba is the village on the way back to New Bagan from Old Bagan. The place was emplty when we arrived and doesn't look special, but the older couple cooking and running it are AMAZINGLY nice and generous. The food itself is simple, Burmese-family veg fare, but be warned, the portions are ENORMOUS and so three dishes was too much for 2pax to share. And then the patron brought out a 4th dish (stir-fried vegetables) for us to have ON THE HOUSE.and then FRUIT on the house for dessert..and were happy to chat a bit afterward as well (and he has the best map of Bagan blown-up on the wall as well). Very sweet. And ridiculously cheap, all this for less than $10 for 2 pax. Highly recommended.

“Great lunch with hospitality”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

Park your bike here between temple hopping and settle in for some great eggplant curry. Tea leaf salad is a Burmese speciality not to be missed and they make a nice version. Owner is friendly and very positive.
