At first glance this looked like a fine picturesque hotel, designed by someone with creative flair. But it seems to have lost its pride and things weren't great. The pool is beautiful, and the first afternoon we arrived it was being filled. The next day we had a nice swim, but I noticed there was no pool pump or skimmer. By the next day it was green pea soup - unswimmable.
The room safe had an iffy locking mechanism, but it didn't matter because it wasn't bolted down, so why bother. The bathroom was poor. Our toilet would not fill the tank after flushing, so we had to remove the tank top and use that spray nozzle to fill it, three times we mentioned it to the front desk w no response. The internet never worked; however, the Internet cafe next door worked slowly and sporadically, so it wasn't a regional issue. The hotel rented bikes for 3 USD per day; the Internet cafe restaurant "Queen" had same bikes at two USD per day.

We had a bungalow on the pool and it was huge and clean. Great breakfast. You pay for internet, which is terrible in Bagan but does work. Good location, great staff.

I was disappointed. I booked the hotel with an agent fortunately as the poor folk who book direct online pay rather more than double. The website makes it look impressive, rooms with jacuzzi to boot. The jacuzzi was fine but the room was dark and old fashioned, and fraying at the edges. The swimming pool attracted no takers probably because it was cloudy all of the time I was there.
Breakfast was OK.
However avoid the place if you fancy sleeping beyond 5.00 a.m. which is when a local place, whose function I never determined, began to play loud music for all for half a mile around to enjoy. It went on for hours.
On complaining to hotel staff I was told that they had given the owner earphones. Jest or not? I do not know, but the noise certainly tips the hotel to a negative rating.

We totally enjoy our stay with Bagan Princess. The staff are extremely helpful to our needs especially the manager. He went all out to see to our needs. We were very impressed by the level of service.

However on the down side, we had a terrible guide (He call himself Win Win) who left us stranded with the driver. Lucky our helpful driver (Mr Maung Po- 2042724) was helpful and knowledgeable to bring us around to continue our trip without much problem.

The hotel conveniently located near the Old Bagan making it an easy get about the Old Bagan temples. There are couple of good local restaurant location on both end if you do a bit of walking and massage is available next door. The rooms are clean and well decorated. It even comes with personal jacuzzi tub.

Will definitely stay there again when we visit Bagan in future

If you book this hotel go through agency in Yangon or Bangkok. I reserved thru Internet and paid 80$ but other tourists paid 50$ for same room. Stayed 5 nights and for 4 pool was green and opaque so not inviting. Chaises longues were old and scruffy and plants all neglected with the once bar abandoned. Rooms nicely decorated but hairs in shower and jacuzzi did not work. Never saw the same staff 2 days running. The manager was pleasent when there! Hotel on main road so fairly noisy by pool. Breakfast ok but food cold.

Room Tip: Make sure you have room on pool as if not on road and noisy
