Went to Star Beam in New Bagan twice within six days and it is exactly what many restaurants (in Europe or anywhere really) are not anymore. Many times, you walk out of a well-marketed and sleek restaurant having eaten average food (at best). At Star Beam, you leave your bamboo table in the sand in front of a very simple hut, having eaten well-above-average delicious food for relatively small money. Your table is set up just like your table at the sleek European restaurant, after 10 minutes you are served the fresh home-made bread with butter on your bread plate with your bread knife and the surprises continue from there on. All the food we tried was fantastic, the service was impeccable and every time, we left happy. The more recent place in New Bagan is run by the owner's brother, who worked for restaurants and hotels abroad and applies high restaurant standards to this place. Thank you once again for the delicious meals!
