If you want authentic Burmese food, that keeps on coming, come here. It's not flash but it's tasty and for about $4 you get to sample about 10-15 different dishes. Add to that family friendly and family run and you can't lose

Although this restaurant was quite hard to find, especially at night, it was worth the trek. Shortly after we were shown to our table, dishes and dishes of food started appearing in rapid succession on our table. There was no menu and we did not order a single thing. I can't remember how many different types of dishes we tried, but it must have been about 10-15 as mentioned by the other reviewers. Portions of each dish was just enough for the four of us, almost like a tasting menu of sorts, but if you liked a particular dish, you could always ask for refills. There were more hits than misses and we really enjoyed the whole experience there. The proprietors and waitresses were very friendly and tried hard to make conversation with us despite the language barrier.

This family operated, cafeteria style restaurant recommended by our local Bagan Guide was hard to find, tucked away in the side street. You pay about US$7.50 per person for the meat dish and it comes with complimentary side dishes. We got an array of 6 vegetables, beans, potatoes, coconut etc.

We were the only diners since it was rather late, 7.45pm.
The food was cold, clearly been sitting around all day but some, still tasty. The meat in the curry was tough and dry. There were oily stains on the table-cloth.
The jolly proprietor sat with us the whole meal urging us to eat, eat. Her nieces and nephews hung around the table gawking at us curiously. One niece keep refilling our plate with rice. We were stuffed.

I'm normally hard to please when it comes to food but this place was hands down one of the best meals I've had!! It's a family run restaurant right behind the only supermarket in new bagan. You immediately receive 15 or so dishes of local Burmese food on the table. Everything tastes amazing and there are many meat and vegetable dishes. They keep refilling the dishes until you have had enough. Finally they bring out local dessert and tamarind sweets. All up this cost about $3.50 pp. the drinks are also super cheap! Make sure to try the fermented peanut with the pumpkin as it's just like eating roast pumpkin and feta cheese!

My husband and I saw the reviews for the restaurant, so we stopped by for lunch today. The experience was great and I would highly recommend this place!! After you sit down, they bring out 10-15 plates of Burmese food... and they keep refilling them until you tell them you're finished (everything for $3 pp). The food is fantastic... especially the tea leaf salad!

It's right off the main road in New Bagan... the signs on the street are very good and will point you in the right direction. Enjoy!!
