“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2013

This is a lovely hotel set up in a quadrangle arrangement with the pool in the middle. However, in January the evenings are cool in Bagan (50's F) and the pool water is in the 60's F. As usual, no credit cards accepted. They even have a sign at the front desk telling you what year of US bills they will take. My room overlooked the pagodas so the view from the balcony was wonderful. There are thousands (literally) of pagodas in the area.

Be sure to get up early in the morning and go out the entrance and take a right. In about 100 yards you are down to the river (Irrawaddy). The bustle in the morning is very interesting. Take your camera.

I think that you can rent bicycles in the area. I saw a lot of people on bikes.

Breakfast is very good.

We were traveling with Overseas Adventure Travel so we do not know the cost but the spacious room beautiful grounds and excellent breakfast exceeded out expectations. Bathroom had both tub and shower. Lobby internet connection was good but painfully slow as the internet is everywhere in Burma. Breakfast was good and varied but not exceptional. Open air lobby and restaurant were very comfortable but cool in the mornings in January.

Our room was spacious overlooking pagoda with magnificent view of sunrise. The staff were helpful even we arrived in the early morning (4am!), the breakfast buffet was superb with wide range of choices on food and drinks. There were bicycles and horse carts available for hired with reasonable price just outside the hotel, the family running the horse carts was friendly and took us to nice places in Bagan. They also arrange a boat trip (boarding at the back of the hotel) for us to see sunset, which was a must-do in Bagan!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as part of a touring holiday. We travelled as part of a group Our room was on the groun floor overlooking the pool The room was not large but quite adequate. Very comfortable. The grounds are really nice to walk around a well maintained.
We did experience power cuts but this is the norm. Just have a torch handy.

Breakfast was good and plentiful. Water in the pool was icy cold so didn't stay in very long. We didn't have any hot water so rang reception. Someone came along immediately to sort it out. Staff werre nice and friendly.

Can recommend the hotel.

Well, think this hotel has had a major refit. We had no issues at all. Yes it is great to spend three weeks roughing it, eating and drinking the local cuisine, but the wonderful sound of a barista frothing milk for your cappuccino at this hotel was bliss. The location is awesome, next to the working river, the rooms were lovely, tasteful and well stocked, the staff were delightful.
They helped us with a number of requested, promptly and wilts a minimum of fuss.

This hotel as superb grounds with wonderful gardens and very nice chalet type rooms, some of which overlook the river. The rooms are very good and comfortable. The big negative is that we had food poisoning after the (expensive) new years diner. As I told the front desk manager about this, she reacted surprised and told us we were the only ones (and give us a laquerware plate advertising the hotel as a compensation). The next day at the airport we met several couples who were at the dinner and also suffered from food poisoning. Be honest to your guests guys !

Room Tip: Stay away from the river. The boats departing from the jetty, very close to the hotel, sound like he...
