Just like home but with all the perks of service: comfortable, fun, fresh food, delicious fruits, amazing company, staff, and environment. Everyone feels welcomed and loved by the hotel owners Siraj and Ghazala. They are really the best hosts!

This hotel is without doubt one of THE most special places to stay. From the moment you are picked up at the airport to the moment you leave, you are made to feel like a member of the family -and of course this is family run! But what a family! Never before have I stayed somewhere and left feeling I had encountered so many unique people, from Siraj to Gazala, to Changez, Isla and Dina their grandchildren - all of whom I have no doubt will remain friends for a very long time.
The hotel is perched on the edge of an escarpment, overlooking Chitral and the valley below. The rooms are charming. with a balcony providing a stunning place to sit and read. Meals were delicious and plentiful, as were the Mango Lassis!
The owners, Chitral and Gazala, were so welcoming and friendly and they held court over Happy Hour every evening before dinner - in fact it was more like 2 and a half hours!
Siraj organised the most truly spectacular 5 day trek for us over the Shah Jinali Pass, ending up staying in their other property at Mastuj. Like Hindukush Heights, Mastuj is a must, especially at this time of the year when the apricots are in season, and you can pluck them off the many trees in the orchard.
I had never been to Pakistan before, and I can truly say that this was one of the very best holidays I have ever had - made especially so by Siraj and Gazala, and all their team at Hindukush Heights. I shall definitely be back.

I had not heard of Hindukush Heights but as soon as I told a few friends about it, I started hearing rave reviews. The experience surpassed everything I had heard about the place and the proprietors.

HKH is owned and run by Siraj and Ghazala Ulmulk. It will be difficult to find hosts that are as involved with their guests than these two. The hotel is very comfortable. The food is fantastic. The staff is superb. The surrounding area is beautiful and scenic. But it is the hospitality that stands out even then. When you are at HKH, you are in good hands.

Highlights of the hotel: Excellent organic food and fruits, beautiful lawn and patio area especially great for star gazing at night, family feel all around, identical rooms with beautiful views, very clean, swimming pool to be inaugurated soon which will be an additional plus.

Highlights of the area: Numerous and excellent day trips/hikes, Siraj is an exceptional organizer and guide and knows the area like the back of his hand, some enthralling jeep rides to far-out villages are available for the adventurous, camping trips can be organized, there are some spots for paragliding nearby.

Room Tip: The beauty of HKH is that every room is identical so you cannot go wrong. Every balcony has an aston...

The Hindu Kush Heights Hotel was the last stop on a two week tour of Northern Pakistan, and turned out to be a real highlight. The location is very beautiful, above the town of Chitral, surrounded by the Hindu Kush mountains and set in lovely gardens, great for taking afternoon tea, before dinner drinks or star gazing. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with a lovely balcony. Bathrooms are good with a nice hot shower heated by solar. Had a really excellent night's sleep and enjoyed that it was so quiet and the air so crisp and clear.

What makes the Hindu Kush Heights stand out head and shoulder above other hotels is the exceptional level of hosting and the staff. Siraj Ulmulk, the owner, personally looks after you as if you were a member of the family, and is excellent company. He even accompanies his departing guests to the airport and his staff bring tea while you wait for your flight to leave. The staff are extraordinary, and your every need is attended to. We've had a lovely dinner with local ingredients including wild mountain vegetables, and the staff put on an impromptu music and dance performance that was just magical.

Siraj can assist you in arranging excursions - driving with a land cruiser, or walking in the beautifully rugged Hindu Kush, including visiting local families in surrounding villages. He can also assist with making arrangements to go into the Kalash Valley to visit the Kalash, an intact Pagan society to experience their warm welcome to visitors and way of life that are so different to anywhere in the world.

I found traveling in Northern Pakistan most enjoyable and very safe. I would be very happy to be contacted to share my travel experiences and suggest reliable local agents to arrange the trip with. Its a stunningly beautiful part of the world, very unspoilt, with high snow capped mountains, exceptional scenery great for walking, interesting culture, very friendly people, and great courtesy and hospitality towards visitors.

Arriving at the Hindukush Heights was like spending a few days in paradise. It is run by the royal family of Chitral. The Ulmulks were the most welcoming hosts and the staff were so warm and helpful.Waking up to the view of the entire valley infront of you and falling asleep in the verandah on moonlit nightissomething inxeplicable.
Hindukush Heights is heaven on earth.

One of the best place in Pakistan where you can find a warm welcome from the manager and the staff. From the room you have a scenic view and everything is perfect. Congratulation to the owners for the cleanliness and services. From the hotel you can easily arrange a day-trip to kalash valley (unforgettable) and some other charming spots...
An easy but authentic adventure
